Bremont - The Wing

Post by iain »

Thanks to Guy (Bahnstormer_vRS) and Mick (Mikkei4) a few of us had a fantastic day out yesterday touring the Wing, Bremonts new manufacturing and technology centre along with an excellent pub lunch.

I’d certainly recommend this to everyone. It was a long day out for me, travelling from Halifax and back on the day, but well worth the effort.

The Breh-mon HQ looks rather swanky doesn't it!! I bet that was a lot of fun. I think I would have been rather distracted by that gorgeous E-Type...boys toys and all that.

Thank you for the plaudits Iain, and thanks for making the trip and bringing along Paul (CWE Group member). It made the day all the more enjoyable.

The Wing is a most impressive facility not only for Manufacturing and Servicing/Repair, for which at the moment it is vastly underutilised, but as a Headquarters with displays of their achievements and watches. To me, their Military and Special Projects being particularly impressive.

A few more photos ... .

At the end of the tour, we looked around the Boutique with one of our members being especially interested in an S300.

Only low-alcohol at lunchtime, during our pre-tour mini GTG, for which we'd all brought a few watches to look over.

I knew you guys would have a great day
It's very well done isn't it?

The attention to detail and props with some of the displays are excellent.

I was actually quite surprised by the number of Special and Military projects they had done when looking a their showcases
...and that's just ones that "can" be displayed

I certainly found it very interesting looking back at some of their previous limited edition models - a bit like a museum tour.

It's certainly an innovative and modern facility

Looks like it was a great day out. Particularly like this photo showing various steps of CNC machining the case from the steel rod

It was a great day, and good to meet some of the guys. I found the historical LEs the most interesting part.

Thank you for sharing your fabulous day out, excellent photographs too. I’ve know a number of people make the same visit and all have said that they have never seen anything in production. It would be interesting to know what actually is manufactured from raw materials in Henley and not necessarily assembled.

^^^^ As per our photos, Richard, we clearly saw Cases and Casebacks being Manufactured and spoke with the technicians doing it.

We were told that movements were brought in from Switzerland, mostly ETA and Valjoux, then customised for each watch, primarily the rotor.

Thereafter, all watches are assembled on site in The Wing.

Good to know, I assume that are all their cases are manufactured in Henley from raw materials.

I really should make a visit, I only live a few miles away.

You assume correctly, Richard.

As I wrote in my initial post, as an explanation to a photo.
