Dress watch?
Where have all the dress watches gone or have CW moved away from them? I was thinking of picking one up to replace a C5 I had years ago

Re: Dress watch?
It’s been discussed here before. I’m not sure where CW is going with dress watches, but they are gone for now.
In my opinion, CW is a brand that reminds me of dress watches. I think they are positioned well if they decide to pursue sales in that category.
All that said, CW does what makes CW profitable, so I think we’re seeing writing on the wall for the affordable end of Swiss dress watches.

Re: Dress watch?
I'm puzzled.
There are plenty of dress watches currently available on the CW Website.
Essentially various iterations of the C1 Grand Malvern.

What’s puzzling is why CW calls those dress watches.Bahnstormer_vRS wrote:I'm puzzled.

Moonglow. World Glow (massive) - both essentially lume-focused complications. A couple of quartz chronographs (not really dress watches in my opinion). All else is Morgan-related.
I suspect Neil is looking for a simple automatic or manual three hand dress watch in a suitable size, with or without date. Correct?

Re: Dress watch?
CW sold all of their dress watches so there must be a market for them. Perhaps just not the same sort of market for dressy or utilitarian pieces. My C5 595 is a modern, bang up to date dress watch that could easily rub shoulders and breathe whiskey fumes on something vastly more expensive. I’m really pleased I grabbed one. Just need to wait for the ideal event to wear it to now.
Dress watch?
I personally would not call any of those dress watches either.Bahnstormer_vRS wrote:I'm puzzled.

Re: Dress watch?
I personally wouldn't say anything in the dress watch section would count

Re: Dress watch?
My preferred dress watch when dining out. Long gone from the CW catalog, but found in the archives hence the copied text: ‘launched in April 2014, the C5 Malvern Slimline was Christopher Ward's thinnest manual watch at the time. Housed in a 40mm case with a height of 8.65mm, it uses the ETA 2801-2 manual winding movement (no date window) and features a sapphire crystal case back’. I paid CW just £220 for this lovely watch, happy days.

Re: Dress watch?
The Morgan line has some nice pieces. I do feel, though, that the appeal of the Morgans is somewhat limited. I’d like to see more variety in the dress category. Divers do sell, but I’m finding the look kind of tired. Different colors are great but not enough for me to be excited for an endless string of divers.

Lovely choice as a dress watch: minimal text, simple indices, slender height, and symmetrical dial.Richard D wrote: ↑Sun Aug 22, 2021 4:39 pm My preferred dress watch when dining out. Was wondering this myself. I could do with one to complete my collection.
