Nothing but their "coming soon" nonsense on Rolex.com when I look at whether typing in the URL or going through Google. You're link works thoughwhat-time-is-it wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 12:45 pmWent on the website at 11am this morning.

Shame the Explorers haven't been given much of a refresh, other than the new bimetal option. They look the same?

Ah of course, so no more 39mm. Not that you'd ever find both to try on and compare in store anyway!

^^^^^ I can't tell if it's also still available in 39mm or not, the sites a bit of a car crash for me just now.

You know the saying, if you can't say something nice...I know Rolex has glamed up nearly every other watch in their catalog, but an Explorer? The only true tool left has no place at this table IMO.

I reckon it went something like this:watchaholic wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 2:08 pmYou know the saying, if you can't say something nice...I know Rolex has glamed up nearly every other watch in their catalog, but an Explorer? The only true tool left has no place at this table IMO.

2020 - “I reckon we should release a load of smartie lurid dial Oyster Perpetuals, to see if anyone goes for them”.
2021 - “well last year’s joke with those coloured OP dials worked. What about a TT Explorer?”
“Good idea, that will really mess with their heads”.

Yup. They lost the plot. Bet they'll sell a boat-load of them though.

Re: Steel and gold explorer
I love the Explorer and I will probably get a TT watch at some point, but on first glance this combo doesn't work.
Having looked a little more on the Rolex website, the gold edged hands and indices do appear to tie it all together a bit better than first impressions. £8,700 vs £5,150 for the standard Explorer.

Re: Steel and gold explorer
It's my understanding according to Jennie Elle, they have dropped the 39mm steel Explorer, only 36 available????. Makes no sense. I always thought I would own one at some point, but 36mm on my 8" or 21mm wrist is pretty small. I don't know....does smaller, more compact, make a better tool?
