^^^ you are right, Chris. It is very adaptable, and I think CW have cracked the GODO/GADA concept with these watches.

Steve - outstanding review and back story leading up to the acquisition of your C63 GMT!

I was curious if the Meistersinger might have been moved out to assist the funding of the C63.....seems it gets another chance to earn a spot in your rotation.

Well considered post that was an enjoyable read and descriptive pictures.
Small collection of timepieces that I enjoy

^^^ thanks, Lance. The Meistersinger is such a lovely watch that I really would like to hang onto it. I think I was being a bit ambitious thinking that it could become a one-watch travel companion. I did think of taking it for long lazy afternoons by the pool, but my determination to travel light won out.

Excellent review. Thanks for sharing Steve, I enjoyed the personalised perspective.
It's none of my business, I know, so forgive me but I can't help but wanting to suggest that if the Meistersinger reminds you of bad times then maybe you should just move it on and "release yourself" from the connection to that period as it were?

^^^ I see that, Ian, but I love the watch and in theory I love the concept. It’s just that it hasn’t been right in recent times. I shall try again.

I’ve experienced this before. It seems sometimes I’ve loved the idea of a thing more than the thing itself, then struggled to bond with it. Sometimes it works out when I let go of my preconceived idea and simply embrace the thing, and sometimes it doesn’t.

The idea behind the Meistersinger purchase is a great one, so I hope it works out for you, Steve.

Thanks, Andrew. I was probably overthinking it but we’ve done that a lot recently. More than anything I just need to relax and de-stress on this trip. Maybe for a future trip it will get the nod.

Well, after a couple of weeks this watch has seemed to settle into a pattern of losing about one second per day. As far as I can see it appears to do that on the wrist during the day and hold pretty steady at night with the dial up on the bedside table. I’m very happy with that. :D

Update

We have been in Greece for 6 days and this is proving to be a perfect holiwatch. Beach, casual restaurants, definite GODO! Currently about +10, so timekeeping is under +2 s/d. It has been quite warm during the day so far so I have found the hybrid strap better than the #tide.

Thanks Ferg and Lindsey

I went right-wristed today in an attempt to avoid white watch marks on the left. Never quite feels right, though. We have had a few dips in the big blue salty pool, so the Sealander has certainly lived up to its name.

Great review, Steve. The addition of the holiday photos help put the watch in context.

Nice to see your vacation and watch are holding up to expectations. Enjoy! Possibly even better knowing there is no reason to rush home and go straight back to work?
Time and money? I’ve spent most of mine on booze and women. The rest I just wasted…

Great review, really appreciate you showcasing the size on wrist as at first, I wasn't sure how 39mm would look on a wrist.
