New arrival, bit of a trek from Sapporo and four days in customs.

Many thanks, Chuck. It will of course not have escaped your notice that this is an old model since they replaced this with the SBGA299 in 2017. But in my view they dropped a crucial trick: no blue second hand and my GS had to have that, so the search was on for a NOS as I can live without the GS only branding. A very acceptable price too - we don't want to be paying anywhere close to retail now do we?

So, PR, lume (very few GS models), white dial and blue sweep hand all present and correct, job done :D

Edit: I was reading up on your Ebels, interesting though somewhat storied history. Would you say now up and coming?

Very smart  I probably go against the grain but I prefer the flat white dial to the snowflake, somehow the snow effect has just never worked for me.

Truthfully, I've no real idea what Movado intends for Ebel for the long term..while they currently have a few interesting offerings(their Discovery divers & auto chronos), they still emphasize women's quartz models by and large..such a shame.. :(

Been a pretty exciting week after all the W&W new releases. Tudor showed some courage with the BB58 variants and the Black Bay Chrono with the Panda dial seemed a well specced out beauty. Got a call from my AD to have a look at the BB58 925 (sterling silver case). He happened to have also the BB Chrono with both the Panda and the Reversed Panda dial. Very much surprised how well it wore on the wrist and how comfortably it sat. The reverse panda dial came across as the more balanced one because of the white indices and white registers against the black dial. Although the Panda might appear a little smaller, for me the registers stood out too much. Long story short - it's at home now and enjoying it very much. Obviously larger than my usual wear, but with the female bracelet, case shape, excellent bracelet (will never be a fan of the faux rivets) and reduced case mket it a very comfortable wearer for many wrist sizes (mine is ~6.75 - 7 inch depending on the weather). To be continued.

Bit of a strange beast Movado, lot of fashion emphasis. Just maybe (hopefully) they might let a premium watch maker do their stuff?

I know what you mean about the Snowflake, it's nice but maybe now cliche-ed? The dial on this definitely has a silvery radial effect, but discrete. I'll do some more pics to try to capture once I have sorted the bracelet and got to know it better. I personally preferred over the Snowflake as being more GADA: screw crown, lume, oyster style bracelet while still sporting the blue sweep seconds. Overall impression is somewhat under the radar, but very nicely executed.
