Gigandet...Intersting Propositions

Post by StrapMeister »

So an email popped into my inbox from Gigandet.
I've had one of their watches before and they have a very good quality and finish, plus I think that they offer very good value for money.
I also find them a bit like Steinhart with their offerings - if you catch my drift.

This one particularly sparked my fancy:

I'm pretty sure that somewhere in a box I've got an old Valjoux movement hand-winding two-register chrono with Gigandet on the dial and probably from the 1960s: I wondered if this is the same company so went to ask google and came up with this opinion piece:https://www.chronopolis.co.uk/blogs/new ... y-any-good.

Truth be told when I popped the link you posted my first thoughts were of Chinese brands and a very similar watch I bought just earlier this month https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002 ... 4c4dNxIX3Z and I can't begin to mention all those Oyster style cases

That's quite a wide-ranging catalogue they've got there. As you say, a bit like Steinhart.

And the Aliexpress watch? It's doing everything I expected.
