New arrival - PRS-55

Post by village »

I was quite taken with the new Timefactors’s PRS-55 Caribbean. It is exactly my cup of tea.
Caribbean watches were highly popular in the 1960s and we’re produced by several companies;they were often produced with bright colours and this new PRS-55 reproduces the vintage vibe perfectly.

It’s 40mm diameter with 20mm lugs…currently on a nice Beads of Rice bracelet but also comes with a matching tropic strap. I popped it round to my mate who loves round the corner and is a watchmaker to get the bracelet adjusted. He stuck it on his timegrapher whilst I was there and it was spot on. The movement is a Miyota 9015.

What my pictures don’t show is that the dial has a lovely subtle sunburst effect.

Now that really is a watch for kicking back and sauntering around in some warm and sunny clime. Very chilled and relaxed!

Congrats on the new watch!

Did anyone else read the subject line and think this thread would be about a new electric guitar?

Nope. Wrong sort of guitar. I am completely ignorant. If he had said he had bought a Córdoba I would have wondered.

My orange arrived on Monday. What is the bezel like on yours, mine is quite tight?

^^^^^Bezel is firm and needs a positive turn but I would expect that in a dive watch….wouldn’t want the bezel being accidentally knocked!

Nothing wrong with a positive bezel action on what appears to be a serious dive tool; Jesus it has 100atms of water resistance. It should survive being soaked by a Mai-Tai in the Netherland Antilles...

I absolutely love the unapologetic, poke your eyeballs out colour! The overall design is really nice, but I think its the BOR bracelet that puts the cherry on the cake for me.

Its a really nice overall package. Im trying to calm down with buying but this has gone straight on my wanted list

I saw these the other day and really liked them. The yellow would be favourite but I don't get why a dive watch would have a 1-12 hour bezel instead of a dive time bezel?
Cheers now, Paul

Seems strange, doesn’t it? I suppose one bonus is that you can offset the bezel and use it as a simple GMT. Works well as long as you know whether it’s a.m. or p.m. in the other location.

I'm always amazed that anyone manages to buy anything from Time Factors these days :?

They do look great though. I had a hankering for the blue and yellow but then thought it might be a bit too Leeds United
