Automatic mechanical tide watch

Post by Surf609nj »

Does anyone know of any affordable automatic mechanical tide watches?
Something similar to these two watches

I don’t know of any offhand except the quartz tide watch from hook and gaff:

A quick internet search shows Oris did one that supposedly shows the tide cycle. Not sure if that’s what you’re looking for, but worth a look:

Thanks! I’ve seen the hook and gaff one but haven’t seen the Oris. That’s an interesting watch. Hopefully CW does a tide watch in the future.

Maybe! It would make perfect sense given all CWs “#tide” branding lately.

I have had a tab on my iPad open with this one for the past couple of weeks. Pondering.

It looks very neat. Although for me it’s a solution to a problem that doesn’t really exist. On the occasions when I do want to know the state of the tide, our usual location means I just look out of the window when I wake up. :)

The one that comes immediately to mind is the Sinn 240 ST. A watch I nearly bought a couple of years ago just due to the blue internal bezel - I didn’t even realise it was a tide indicator to start with, just liked the look of the watch (and still do)

Very nice watches. Here’s a hack for those with a gmt watch. Set the bezel to low tide at the 12 o’clock position and rotate it 4 clicks everyday. After 5 days it’s 10 minutes off, but it’s close enough for most purposes.
