Tales from the Omega Boutique

Post by albionphoto »

I haven't written one of these for a while. Yesterday I went to my local Omega boutique to see the 2021 releases in person. They had been brought in under an ATA Carnet which allows them to be brought into the country without paying duty so long as they are not sold and leave again within 12 months. They had the Aqua Terra small seconds, Seamaster 300 and Stealth Master on show. If you love the Seamaster 300 then please stop reading as I don't like it and didn't photograph it.

I was also wearing my C63 Sealander Elite and the push-button crown was noted... It's amusing to learn that my evil CW influence seems to have got to one of their staff. They've gone and bought a CW...

If you like the blue bezel/white dial Seamaster 300M you're not alone. In the US there is a three - four month wait.

Enjoy the pictures (BTW the silver dial/blue indices AT seems to be the most popular...).

I'm not quite sure on the AT with the small seconds, might grow on me. I do also prefer the silver dial over the blue.

The Stealth Master looks pretty cool, Omega's nod to the CW Abyss!

Those scratch an itch I clearly don’t have! hard pass on all of them for me, despite really wanting to like the small seconds model.

Similar colour scheme to the Tudor Glamour Double Date small seconds, with the Calibre MT5641 (COSC) in house movement, I have just picked up with a hefty discount in the current Beaverbrooks sale.

So I went to buy a watch, and the man in the shop said "Analogue." I said "No, just a watch."

That Tudor is awesome.

Curious, on the small second AT, is it thinner than the last year's regular AT? It is one of my gripes about the AT line....

The ATs have a bit too much detail to be classics. The dials are lovely though, I'm just not sure about the details around the small seconds...

Here's a good Omega wishlist... Anyone for a three watch collection?

I'd be happy to take just the Racing.

I like the standard AT but not sure about the small seconds version.

The small seconds is much nicer in real life than in the pictures. bad lighting, iPhone... 'Nuff said. It's worth a look. However, of the three, the Racing would be top of my list, especially on the strap. The deal seems to be, buy on the bracelet and we'll give you the strap and clasp.

I like the look of the AT SS, particularly the silver dial.

The funny looking blacked out Seamaster though?
