Bulova Lunar Pilot Limited Edition Grade 5 Titanium 50th anniversary of Apollo 15 / Lunar Landing

Post by Gripper »

I was hoping for a smaller, perhaps, automatic version of the Bulova Lunar Pilot to be released by Bulova to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 15 moon landing on 2nd Aug. Instead we get a titanium & gold pvd quartz version in the same size. Limited to 5,000 pieces, priced at $995.00

So I went to buy a watch, and the man in the shop said "Analogue." I said "No, just a watch."

I had the original Lunar Lander (with the Bulova tuning fork at 12) and loved it but that lug to lug length is challenging. I subsequently sold it and have also been hoping for a smaller version. This LE is..... disappointing.

I have a B258-model Lunar Pilot and it is large. Not so large, however, that I wouldn’t wear it. The size and weight feels similar to the C8 pilot watch. At least the titanium would reduce the mass. As it is it is quite nice.

Much like the Speedmaster Reduced, I think Bulova should also offer a dropped size of the Lunar Pilot.

Since the original video is now private and the watch isn't even on Bulova's website I would say that it might be a case of an accidental trigger pull. I would think it would be released closer to August. We might see it again the closer we get to the 2nd.
