I was never going to buy this watch!
It is big. Really big. Bulky. Tall. Some, including myself not so long ago, would say ugly.
And yet I did. It is the Panerai 112, the classic Luminor, 44mm diameter, 53mm lug to lug, 15mm tall.
It is stunning! Some of you know I like strong, bold design, and it does not come much stronger than this. It is a watch that makes no apologies.
My wrist, 17cm, have no problems with it. Sure, I had to accept that it is meant to be and wear large.
It makes me feel good when I wear it. And that is the primary function of a watch.
I’ve spent many happy hours pouring over reviews, videos and pictures online, as we’re wont to do. And I’ve become a fan of Panerai in general. Who knows what might come next?
Here are a few pictures of this ten year old beauty.

Bjorn, as you alluded to, those Panerai Luminors are way too bold, brash, large.....I too thought as much until I tried one on, and was sold
Your 112 looks superb, congratulations

Thanks. Actually I’ve had a 512 for some time, so the 112 is my first big Panerai. The 512 is a great small Panerai. Here is mine:

The PAM looks fantastic Bjørn, congratulations . As do the others in this thread!
Its also really interesting to me re size, I have a 19cm (slim but flatish) wrist and torn between 42mm or 44mm, prefer the idea of the 42 as always thought the 44 would be just too big but lots more options and attractive prices (relative i know) in 44 as I would be buying used. Its difficult to assess in 15 mins in store!

Re: I was never going to buy this watch!
Thanks Stephen. For a long time I was sure that 44mm would be too big, but I was wrong. From what you say I am pretty sure you would find that 44mm, though big, would suit you just fine.

Superb, Bjørn. I have never considered any kind of Panerai for myself, but they always look lovely.
A very appropriate way to mark your birthday.

Big Elf: It’s a great watch, no doubt. A worthy dream watch.

My 16cm wrist says no you are joking.
That said: this is some kind of watch. Congrats and enjoy into the future in good health.
Good to see the Paneristi out in force too.
