Stunning watch Alex! This is probably the pick of the bunch from the racing Speedmaster line.

Congratulations on the watch, but most importantly on the healthy family which it was bought to commemorate.

Is that a keychain to the right in the fourth picture?
Thanks for your well wishes! And yes, I’m looking at some full yellow strap options…

I’m 90% sure it’s a tool to change the date. The date is changed by pressing a small button on the side of the case as seen here:

strapline wrote: Sat Jun 12, 2021 7:22 am Wow, that's a spectacular watch, Alex, congratulations. Love the gunmetal silver with the yellow accents. I'd love to own an Omega one day, as much for the box as the watch, they're things of beauty. You have quite a back story there, too, which will always be inextricably linked to the watch. Delighted everything worked out well for you. Isn't it great when your research is validated?
Thank you, Des. I’m glad you mentioned the box. It’s truly a thing of beauty by itself. I have it sitting out on my dresser! And yes, a big relief that it worked out as I hoped it would, after reading of others letdowns from their grails.

Thanks! I thought my sister and I were always really close at 18 months apart, but it’s going to be quite a ride with my two being a mere 9.5 months apart!

Congrats on the family story and on the watch purchase.
You nailed it. It's for changing the date. Nice and easy. I have a white dial version and love it! It keeps excellent time, well within COSC spec

Man, that is some story and congrats on all the events - the watch, a sudden new family, and "surviving" an extra-ordinary time in your life! A story for a lifetime.

It continues to amaze me how watches and life stories have a habit of intermingling, some serendipity to it.

^^^ Thanks guys. Definitely running well within COSC specs, about +2spd. Runs about the same as my C60 GMT and C65 SC

Oh yea, and can’t forget that whole pandemic thing that was going on throughout everything :?

As spectacular as the watch is, I can’t help but wish it had QR pins and a quick adjustment on the bracelet. Even so, it feels steps ahead of CW in quality. As I would hope for the price.
