Well first impressions are very good.
The finish and quality is particularly good.
The way they've down the dial is pretty impressive with the ceramic outer number track and sub-dials being all one piece and overlaid on the dial provides a unique look and a certain depth.
I did see a poor review specifically about the dial finishing but in fairness that was a prototype one for journalists.
In fairness most of the reviews I've read have been particularly favourable.
However, the first thing I did was check it under a loupe and mines absolutely fine.
It has a lovely detailed case back.
I like the blue hands which adds contrast and legibility.
All wrapped up in a rose gold case which adds a certain class.
(Other variants were available but I preferred the rose gold case version).
The strap, a dark blue croc style, is very nice and comfortable.

It uses a Miyota Cal. 9122 Triple Calendar Automatic which was, after a quick look at the manual, very easy and straightforward to set.

At 40mm diameter and a l2l of 48mm it's a really nice fit for my 19.5cm wrist :D

Here's the review that clinched it for me https://wornandwound.com/review/melbour ... m%E2%80%A6

Thanks Andrew.
Yes, you're absolutely right about AVOs strap I think that would look great

Aha, I should have referenced back a few days when this brand was mentioned on here (1st time I'd heard of them).
Great looking watch and size seems to be spot on. 👍

Very nice, and a slightly unusual complication- there are a few around, but mostly at much higher price points.

The attention to detail on that creamy dial, and the blue hands really pop.

Congratulations.

:( yeah, as you say, that's life!
It was the last one available now so paid the price.
It wasn't until after I bought it that it then appeared as a pre-order on their web site - ca la vie!
Wearing it today and it looks fabulous :D

Not one with which I am familiar, but I do like the triple date complication and overall it has a distinctly marine look. Nice one.

Funny you should mention the 'distinctly marine look'.
Taken from their web site:
HISTORY
Deck watches were popular among navy and merchant sailors in the early 20th century, particularly in WW1.

They were originally made as pocket watches with hand-wound mechanical movements and were the successor to the original 'marine chronometer' style sea-clocks of the 18th century, which mariners used to calculate longitude by means of celestial navigation.

Very nice Nigel. The Miyota movement is an interesting (good) choice; different but a solid movement. I have an MWC Burnley and I’m very impressed with the build quality for the price and I imagine yours would be every bit as nice. Of course they’re a bit closer to me but their latest models are the first ones that have really tempted me to “buy local”. The dial and hands on yours are lovely, but I’m not yet ready for a gold watch.

Yes super impressed with it.
If I had to pick a fault it's with the length of the strap which is a bit short (still wearable mind).
I'm not ready for a gold watch yet but breaking myself in gently with rose gold first
