This is a really interesting article if you're in to either Seiko watches or the martial arts icon Bruce Lee. For me, personally, it has always been the latter. But I like it when interests merge. Bruce Lee was a true maverick and pioneer and so much more than a 'fighting man'. He was super-cool, a very deep thinker and a man that put great stock in the details. Had he not not died tragically early at the age of 32, long before his potential could be realised, his legacy would be unfathomable. When he was buried in Seattle in '73 Steve McQueen and James Coburn, both students of his, were pall bearers.
I know a lot about Bruce Lee, but I knew nothing of his association with this watch. I found it a worthy read...

Have you watched "Warrior" ? Based on one of Lee's writings.
If not then I can highly recommend it.

You'd have to think that any watch worn by Bruce Lee would have to be cool, and indeed that Seiko Speedtimer on the distinctive bracelet I think doesn't disappoint.

Re: Bruce Lee's Seiko
Indeed, Patrick. He had great tastes. I like the fact that he could have bought any watch he liked at the time, but chose to recognise his Asian heritage and went with Seiko. I also didn't realise that the 6139 was the world's first automatic Chronograph, albeit only just. Timing was everything to Bruce.Thegreyman wrote: ↑Fri May 21, 2021 11:02 pm You'd have to think that any watch worn by Bruce Lee would have to be cool, and indeed that Seiko Speedtimer on the distinctive bracelet I think doesn't disappoint.
Thanks for that, Steve, I will check it out...
