Seemingly ages ago, but really only last November/December, I backed a Kickstarter watch that was clearly a slightly upsized (40mm) homage to a vintage TV dial Seamaster. At the price of AU$240 (£125-£130) it was a bargain; with a ubiquitous Seiko NH35, sapphire crystal and a stainless bracelet, not to mention a green dial, it was very hard for me to resist. It arrived the other day and I must say it’s rather nice, although a 40mm TV dial is a lot bigger than the 35/36mm originals and certainly bigger than a conventional 40mm round dialled watch.
As things happen, in between ordering it and receiving it, I picked up a NOS TV dial Seamaster - not quite the model this is based on, but close. The side by side shots show the difference that 35 to 40mm makes... and the Omega looks just fine on my wrist too.
This is the day/date version of the model I believe they based it on - an earlier (I think?) 36mm Seamaster with normal, albeit hooded, 20mm lugs. Sadly, I no longer own this one... although I do still have the Omega bracelet - it was not original to this model, so it was sold with the OEM beads of rice bracelet that has never really appealed to me on these, although I really like them on, say, a dive watch.

On the face of it, Gary, a slam dunk bargain.
Presumably something like half RRP for being a super, duper, early bird that catches the worm before the sun's up, backer.
How does the quality stand up?

For the super duper early price, it’s amazingly good. At the regular price, still very good, although the bracelet and clasp show their pedigree, or distinct lack thereof.
I think I may have an old spare 22mm Mk 4 Speedy bracelet so I’m contemplating fitting it to the watch to see how it wears. Having said that, it’ll probably be a 20mm MkII bracelet... Funny, the bracelet will be valued at several times the cost of the watch...

The KS watch looks pretty good and the colour is very nice. The red Omega is just stunning in every way!

But then why not? I've got my Laco Erbstuck strap (cost >£100) on a £15 failed brand watch bought off eBay.
