Redux & Co - Titanium Pilot / Diver Mission watches

Post by Bahnstormer_vRS »

Redux & Co are a small New York based watch brand whose initial watch project, the COURG, was launched successfully on Kickstarter in 2015.

They, having done a suitable search, only have one previous mention on the forum back in August '17 in a short thread (only two posts) about their COURG Watches.

I've been on their mailing list for a while and they currently have their second watch project of a selection of Titanium Pilot / Diver Mission watches running on Kickstarter fully funded by a big margin, but with 20 days still to go and some Early Bird offers still available; just (it looks like the Early Bird I backed an hour or so leaving 1 pledge remaining has gone).

If you like a good tool watch, that's not too big, with decent historical design cues, these are worth a look.

Redux & Co - Titanium Pilot / Diver Mission watches

I see I was the original responders as well! As I noted then, I purchased a COURG Zero Hour back during the original Kickstarter campaign.

It has a simple, legible face, 39 mm, Grade 5 titanium case, sapphire crystal, and a Seiko NH35A automatic movement. It’s nice and light and solidly constructed.

I have found it to be a solid tool watch, and is still (several years later) my go-to when biking or hiking, doing yard work, or whenever my watch might take a beating. It has held up nicely.

Certainly worth a look, IMO.

^^^^ Good to hear that you are getting on well with your Zero Hour, mikes.

You make a good point about a Grade 5 Titanium case.

The standard case on the current KS promotion is Grade 2, as used by CW, which is more workable in manufacture to get different finishes i.e. brushed and polished, compared to Grade 5, but the Grade 2 is more susceptible to picking up rub marks, swirlies and scratches.

On the Redux watches, with their 100% bead blasted finish, workability in manufacture is less of an issue (probably no issue at all) so it therefore makes sense to pay a small amount extra and get a Grade 5 Ti case; which I've done this evening.

I can report after 4 or 5 years of tough use, the Grade 5 Ti case and bezel show very few signs of wear and tear.
