Spent a little more time than is healthy on the 'watchaholic's dictionary' thread than to look at your fantastic new acquisition, Steve. I think it's lovely and very refreshing to see a brand that I don't remember seeing on this forum? The five link bracelet looks really special and elevates the whole package.

Nik (@H0rati0) has the black dial version. It's all his fault for posting it on the "Spring Fancy" thread. Then I saw this silver dial version and :cuinlove:

And yes, the "jubilee" if that's what you call it is lovely. All polished so easy to maintain with the old Cape Cod.

Truly awesome play there, Steve.
A watch and "vintage" WAY outside my experience, wheelhouse and comfort zone. Spectacular just the same.
Perfect example of why I hang about this place. And the people too...
So much to learn about this fantastic hobby. Really exciting stuff.

Cheers, Chris.

UN has been a bit of a "back-burner grail" brand for me. One I was very very aware of, very attracted to but probably would never own. So when I posted my "Spring Fancy / Left Field" thread on a couple of forums and this came up, I had to jump at the chance to own it.

Congratulations, Steve! A very interesting pickup. It’s quirky and fun, and rock solid quality.

You have certainly come a long way from that Christiaan van der Klaauw grail of a few years back.

A very nice watch Steve and I'm a big fan of the GMT implementation.

I also like the look of some of their newer pieces, but prices have gone well north!

Congrats are in order

Cool 😎 From what I can ascertain of your taste in watches it’ll fit very nicely into your collection.

One question however, given that it appears to be a heavily modified ETA 2893 movement and is 20yrs old what are your plans/options for servicing?

I shall probably speak first to Simon Michlmayr - local and very good.

Lovely watch - always wanted a UN GMT back in the days when I travelled a lot for work.....my desire had decreased over the last year or so, but may now be rekindled!
Enjoy

Late response and just catching up but that is superb Steve. Really like it but a above all it’s good so see something a little left field and out of the ordinary. Not going to bump in to too many people wearing one of those. Proper high end stuff as well.
Many congratulations indeed. Great choice
Cheers now, Paul

Thanks, Paul. I thought you might appreciate it. It was all a bit spur of the moment but I’m really glad I went for it.

Thank you, Lance. As is often the case, I was in the right place in cyberspace at the right time, and I had to go for it.

My big indulgence these days is holidays and travel, as you probably know. However, having missed what would have been four consecutive holidays, I felt the need to give myself a little treat. Especially after the grimmest Christmas and New Year on record.
