Glad it's not just me who does this and you found someone to "blame"

Sorry to say that I had missed this thread.
What a very nice watch that is.
I am well aware of your longstanding admiration for the brand of Ulysse Nardin and it appears that you have found an excellent example.
Well done indeed AVO.

Thanks, scooter!
I am chuffed to bits. It started out losing about 12 s/d, but that was probably due to inactivity. By Sunday it was definitely doing better, so I set it to +30s on Monday to observe the drift. Today it was showing +24, so a net loss of -3 s/d.
It can have a day off tomorrow. I shall wear the Speedy to honour the late Michael Collins.

Yes, very sad to hear.
That said 90 is an excellent age to reach.
I often wondered how he felt about staying in the capsule whilst Aldrin and Armstrong took most of the adulation.
Talk about so near yet so far.

Interesting idea! Phileas Fogg would of course have worn a pocket watch, but something like this would have been very useful to Mr Palin on his journeys. He was always having trouble changing time zones on that ship across the Pacific!
Today will be the first day for a week when I don’t wear it, and I shall aim to post a longer review with some more pictures over the Bank Holiday weekend.
