Oris New Releases - Cotton Candy

Post by StrappedUp »

I don't know what they've been on at Oris, but I want some. :D

Image

One thing noted is that these have a 38mm case size. That sounds perfect with the narrow bezel. Now if Oris releases some 38mm steel cased models, I'll need to do some re-jigging(again).

Brief release info here ...

The recent trend seems to be colourful dials!

These aren't appealing at all and thinking a bit more about the bronze C60 I had, these dial colours are going to look awful imo once the case and bracelet has gained some patina.

I agree that SS is the only way to go with these colours!

No need to wait that long.

I agree with seemingly everyone here - looks arguably good when new (personal taste and all that...) but will look strange once the bronze goes dark.

Not for me thanks.

I'm happy to admit to a limited colour palette where watch dials are concerned. I'll get me coat. :escape:

I imagine they are looking to appeal to the ladies with these in the slightly smaller size, but maybe not.
Is this unwelcome stereotyping, @missF, or just picking up on a trend?

edit - the pink colour is actually called "lipstick pink". Yummy.

I do wonder if the bigger brands watched WIS (and individual prices) go mad for the various Halios Seaforths and thought hmm, we should develop models in a similar colourful manner... and they've since been sat on them through Covid!

^^ I wonder if the general greyness of the covid year itself has led to people wanting brighter colours in all sorts of areas of life??
