Incoming...???? EDIT: Zero West L1 Longitude

Post by StrapMeister »

I have another incoming (well it arrived today) so thought I would start another guessing game thread :D

So, what do we know?
It's an "Other Brand";
I put a deposit down it back in December 2020;
I paid for it in full January 2021;
The build then commenced and it was scheduled for delivery March (arrived today);
It's a Limited Edition;
It has a white dial;
It has Roman numerals.

More clues to follow...

Will we take a LONG time to FIND out?

I have just had a thought!

Is it a L1 (1884) Finding Longitude... :)

Is it a car?
Or a Zero West Longitude?

Edit: just seen I was beaten to that guess!

For my part, the moment I read it was being built and I remembered some recent posts, I knew it was Zero West. :)

Congratulations, it does look beautifully made.

I had half an inkling it might be a zero west after reading your OP too but you have to get up early in the morning to get much past some of the guys on this forum!

I believe that the Longitude watch was Zero West's signature watch hence why there was only 20 of each made.
So they actually mean a lot to the Guys at Zero West and are thus a very special watch.
I feel very privileged to own one these watches and be part of the beginnings of the Zero West brand.

The watch look and design cues are, if I understand correctly, based upon the clock at Greenwich.

I personally think it's an engineering masterpiece.
It's completely new and different to anything else out there on the market primarily down to the case design and finish which is just absolutely amazing. It's very eye catching and a bit of a light catcher.
At 44mm diameter, the shape, design and size of the case will probably limit the appeal to those with smaller wrists.
There is no doubt this has a wrist presence but without screaming out "look at me". It is a lot more, how can I put it, sophisticated.
I love the way the dial has been executed in keeping things simple and legible.
I like the detail of the second hand and I do like the blue hands which are a nice touch and add a bit of contrast.
The case back has been very cleverly engraved especially the outer wreath-like design which almost looks like the frame of a ornate mirror.
Last but not least, I have to compliment Graham who makes the Horween leather straps in-house - he's done a superb job.
They may be thick @4mm, but they are soft, pliable and comfortable right from new.

More information about the watch and its specification can be found here:

Thanks John.
Hopefully, when we get back to some sort of normality, we can catch up for a coffee.
Apart from the 2 x Zero West watches, there's a couple of other additions to show you.
