Well, I should have said.

As a result of this thread, and further reading and research, I bought one. Non GMT. Black dial.

It’s superb!

The bracelet fits me really nicely, (lucky!) but I wear it on a Hirsch Tiger. 50m hasn’t been an issue yet! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

These are very decent watches. I'd been contemplating whether to purchase the 36mm white dial version as an everyday sports watch, but the 50m put me off at the time.
I do believe Longines suggest that you can swim in this though, which is contradictory to most other manufacturers who state this depth as good for a shower.

I've since had an incredibly frustrating experience with Longines though, so I'm not sure I'll go near the brand again. A shame really as they put out some very lovely, understated pieces.

Setting the date!

So I popped a battery in due to the EOL indicator coming up. Well early I hasten to add, it will work like that for 6 months.

Battery out, next one in in 60 second (Renata 380).

Now the date has jumped 2 days and I can’t seem to find any way to return it to today’s date.

I’ve seen some links to the Longines manual, which says nothing of setting the perpetual calendar. There is a link to a technical booklet but I can’t access it.

Any ideas?

I think the idea with these is that you shouldn't need to adjust the date and therefore an adjustment mechanism doesn't exist afaik.

These are 'clever' watches on the face of it, but I had to return the 36mm VHP I bought because the firmware kept screwing up the positioning of the hands upon pulling the crown out.

I did read that if things do go a bit 'screwy' with them, they need to be returned to Longines for re-programming/re-calibrating.

I'd get in touch with Longines/Swatch group and go from there.
Insist on speaking to someone from service/technical though as they tried to fob me off to an AD on a few occasions who knew absolutely nothing about the VHP range. He himself was confused at to why Longines did this mind.
