I received an email from Goldsmiths indicating that the new Cartier Tanks are out
...and I rather like the XL version

I like that Goldsmith's offers a free watch winder if you get the small tank with the quartz movement!

I got a free winder with my Speedmaster Moonwatch. It’s sometimes useful to keep an automatic going, though.

Called in to the IWC AD today in Leeds to pick up the extra strap I had thrown in when I bought my dads watch. While I was there I got to try on the new 41mm pilot chrono. This is pretty much perfect and with the in house movement it’s even better. And I can confirm that the quick release straps also have removable spring bars so you aren’t stuck with just IWC straps.

Funny enough I tried this on Thursday and was accepting my credit card was going to get hurt.
However for me it fell down as with the straight slab side it just wore too thick for my wrist. However after leaving the AD I stumbled across something else that despite almost identical dimensions wears much better for me ....to be continued

That’s a shame, knowing how you like to sell many of your watches not long after buying, I could have bought it from you in the not too distant future if you’d have succumbed to your initial temptation.
I’m sure what caught your eye instead will still be impressive though.

It might be perspective stefs, but aside from being a tall monster it's fairly tall lug to lug too...

50mm Jon which is on the limit for me.
Cheers now, Paul

^^^^ Whereas the Mk XVIII is 51mm lug to lug and I’ve been fine with that for the last 6 years.
It’s all down to personal preference and not every watch suits everyone. Which is a good job or the waiting lists would be horrendous.

It's a watch fit for a movie star! You know, the one who went round with the talking donkey and the sword-wielding cat...what was his name now?
