So here we go again....What do you think forumites.... I woke up thinking about this, which is generally a VERY bad sign. I have been interested in Wyler, and their unique balance, for years, and this appears to be in nearly NOS condition. That alarm hand and sunburst dial has me a little

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread
Iwc have done everything to make this better imho.
Case size reduced by 2mm to a very wearable 41mm. Thickness reduced. WR increased to 100m. New in house movement and finally a really snazzy easy change system for the excellent adjustable bracelet and leather or rubber straps.
Really nice..

I agree that these look fantastic. I do have reservations about the strap change system though. I have one on my aquatimer and the spring bars are a permanent feature. This means I’m limited to IWC supplied straps and bracelets unless I wear it on a NATO. Not an issue for me as I’ve ordered the bracelet which it will stay on.stefs wrote: ↑Sat May 22, 2021 4:15 pm Iwc have done everything to make this better imho.

With my MKXVIII it has never left the bracelet since I bought one, so again wouldn’t be an issue for me as I’d definitely get this on the bracelet if I went for one. If however you like to wear these on leather and plan to swap straps around, it could get very expensive very quickly. IWC certainly know how to charge for their straps.
I’ve not seen the system on the new watches and it does look slightly different to mine, however I’ll reserve judgement until I’ve seen these in person. They aren’t yet in the shops.

Well I’m more intrigued by the quick release on this new 43mm big pilot and the new chrono having looked at the photos from the rear.
This is the aquatimer system (not my photo) but shows how the mechanism attaches round the fixed spring bar.
And here is the one for the big pilot which looks to be a different system. I think I need to see it in real life to see how it works and whether it allows you to use third party straps.

Since I glimpsed it this morning. I just love the titanium bezel, black dial and red seconds hand. It has a great caseback, too.

This...
Or maybe this...
42 mm with a large dial area is about on my limit, but I would risk it.

Well, it has to be the top one Steve. It's a blue dial innit. You won't have to hold out for a blue C63 Elite. Lovely watch btw.

^^^ you are right, it does. It’s gorgeous. But a tad pricey, which is why it’s in the daydream thread.

^^^^Great choice Steve. I watched this one go by a Christie's auction some time ago. Was a no sale at a very reasonable $2600 USD, so they are out there. Guessing the Roman numerals are a bit more rare and certainly dressier. Knowing the affection you have for your Cartier, I can guess your favorite. Good luck in the hunt.

Something a little different from a niche brand, with many aspects that I really like.
But then again this thread is both “an if only”, as well as a “yep I am getting one of these” thread.
Neil
Also a couple that I am less keen on. Would prefer if it was 40mm, rather than 42mm. RRP also rules it out.But then again this thread is both “an if only”, as well as a “yep I am getting one of these” thread.

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread
Funny, I have always thought of it as the former. I’ve never really thought of it as a place to post pictures of watches I could go out and buy tomorrow.
Parmigiani watches are lovely, despite the slightly ham and cheese connotation of the name!
Isn’t Prince Charles a Parmigiani man?

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread
^^^ He is indeed Steve.
Back in 2019 I tried on a 40mm PF Chronograph, that was a better fit for me, than a 42mm would be. Poor lighting, but a rather attractive blue dial.
