The new Oris Big Crown ProPilot 41mm with blue/purple dial and lumed numerals is a smidge over £1k, on bracelet, delivered from the Watches of Switzerland group.

Re: The Bargain Hunters Thread
This popped up in my emails a few days ago. Don’t mind if I do. It arrives shortly. The raised numerals, blue dial and bracelet raise it above the two propilots I’ve previously owned. Hopefully it’s a keeper this time. And if is, something must be sold. Thems the rules.jtc wrote: ↑Fri Apr 02, 2021 8:41 am The new Oris Big Crown ProPilot 41mm with blue/purple dial and lumed numerals is a smidge over £1k, on bracelet, delivered from the Watches of Switzerland group.

^^^^That is a great piece. Look forward to a few real world pics.
Time and money? I’ve spent most of mine on booze and women. The rest I just wasted…

Which is about what they retailed for 5 years ago. Its crazy how these watch prices keep rising and yet some makers haven't felt the need to increase prices for years and years.jtc wrote: ↑Fri Apr 02, 2021 8:54 am With the extra 10% off at Goldsmiths, you can have an LLD (42mm) on leather for £1246

I used to belong to an employment scheme where I could get a Goldsmiths gift card for 20% less than retain and bagged one of these for around £900. I sold it to someone on this forum for about £750
But to be honest afford the rental for a lockup where I needed to store the BOX......

I hadn't ever seen the lower prices! Definite bit of retail escalation going on. This current price new is cheaper than all used options on ebay even, so seems a reasonable bargain comparatively!chriswt wrote: ↑Fri Apr 02, 2021 10:39 amWhich is about what they retailed for 5 years ago. I think I even tried one of these on in an AD around the time of your sale too. What could have been....

Omega Planet Ocean's used to be £1800 new about 12/15 years ago
Then as the prices of new PO's went up to £2800ish the used ones cost £1800
Now PO's cost about a million pounds new and so the used ones cost £2800.
People say watches rarely go up in value but anyone that bought an Omega or Rolex in the early 2000's has probably seen a decent return!

You can get an extra 15% off by entering the code 15APRIL on the Newmark 52 (https://newmarkwatchcompany.com/newmark52field/) and the Newmark NP (https://newmarkwatchcompany.com/newmarknp/) while stocks last.

Thank you! I was looking at these over the past few months and even bid on a similar model on ebay as they look decent for the price and liked the idea of a simple Meca Quartz to pick up on the go.StrapMeister wrote: ↑Tue Apr 06, 2021 12:07 pm You can get an extra 15% off by entering the code 15APRIL on the Newmark 52 (https://newmarkwatchcompany.com/newmark52field/) and the Newmark NP (https://newmarkwatchcompany.com/newmarknp/) while stocks last.
Ordered the Newmark NP Chronograph for about £152. Bargain

Re: The Bargain Hunters Thread
I bought the Newmark 52 gilt one from StrappedUp here on the forum - it arrived today.Gar787 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 06, 2021 7:28 pmWhat colour dial did you go for?StrapMeister wrote: ↑Tue Apr 06, 2021 12:07 pm You can get an extra 15% off by entering the code 15APRIL on the Newmark 52 (https://newmarkwatchcompany.com/newmark52field/) and the Newmark NP (https://newmarkwatchcompany.com/newmarknp/) while stocks last.
I changed the NATO to a vintage brown destressed leather strap. As a result, I then ordered a Newmark NP which should turn up tomorrow
Re: The Bargain Hunters Thread
Very nice. I’ve never owned one but I think I’ll plump for the NP. Many thanks Nigel...
