If you would like a very very very good service that may cost a little bit more than some independents but with high attention to detail then you want this guy:

http://watchguy.co.uk/

Has serviced four of my watches.

will outsource for major dial refurbs (be very careful with that choice) and case replating
I miss all the great things that may never be.

I'm happy to recommend: Deacons, Swindon
Deacons offers a comprehensive repair service for clocks, watches and jewellery. From a simple watch battery replacement to a major overhaul of a grandfather clock, no job is too big or too small.

Another vote here for Richard Askham at http://thewatchspotblog.com/.

On the basis of some of the recommendations here I sent my late father's old Camy of 1950s vintage to Richard Askham for service, clean and to replace a broken crystal.

My dad wore this watch every day until his worstening polio-induced wobbles caused him to crack it against a railing in the mid 80's and he wore a cheap Casio from that point on. To have it looking well and beating away strongly once more is a great feeling.

Can't recommend Richard enough, I'm utterly delighted with the service I've received, the communications with Rich and the end result.

Hi, I’m new to the forum. Is there a place on the forum that listS watch service locations and an an estimate of costs? I’d rather take My watch to have it serviced in person.

Tin hat time, but I’ve just used Ernest Jones/Swatch for a pressure tested battery change for my Tissot. Not only did they change the battery they also changed the crown, pushers and spring bars. Watch came back gleaming.

I did have the need to drop back in over the strap which they happily sorted on the spot. Well worth the £62.

I would HIGHLY recommended https://wiltshirewatches.co.uk/
It's a family run business Father, Son and Daughter-in-law - lovely people and I always end up talking watches for at least half an hour when dropping something off.
Very good prices for servicing and repairs.

I would like to add my recommendation to Wiltshire Watches as mentioned by StrapMeister above.

The son fixed my Rolex Submariner bracelet when nobody else I had asked were prepared to take it on.

I remember your story and quest on that task, scooter.

Wasn't the Rolex alternative to replace for several hundred pounds?
