C5 Slimline - Elimination Round 1

Post by Kip »

It seems it has been a while coming, but the time for actual voting has come. We have many excellent entries in both the C5 Slimline and C65 categories. The team thanks everyone who has participated and we hope you had some fun coming up with these design suggestions.

A special Thank You to the PhotoShop team of Goose383 and welshlad who have donated their time to bring most of these ideas to life.

We have 29 entries for the C5 Slimline and 31 entries for the C65. We must narrow down our choices to a more manageable level.

I would like to remind everyone that the more changes we make, the higher the cost. Some will be easier than others to change. Regardless, you need to remember that the FLE, regardless of which model, will sell for more than the posted price. We will get estimates when the field is narrowed down a bit.

This elimination round is to reduce the choices to 3 in each category. Each model will then go to a semifinal round to select a finalist to go head to head in the final round to decide what will be the 2015 FLE.

Only the entry numbers will be shown here on the voting page. For photos and descriptions of entries, please visit the entry topics for the C5 Slimline here.

This first elimination round will give you 5 votes to use in each category. You may use as many as you wish, or none at all, but only the top 3 (and ties for) will move on to the next round. You may change your votes. The voting period will last for 7 days.

There's only one I'd really consider purchasing, so that's the one I voted for!

Which doesn't mean there aren't some great designs, just not ones that grab me particularly. Well done everybody who submitted a design.

hmmmmmmm.
first coffee of the day while i watch the votes come in one at a time.........
it's compelling stuff but it's quite possible that you'll find me in the same place and position in a week's time having lost the ability to speak completely. someone will have to pry my hand from the refresh button and ask me to move away from the computer........

i think it would be a good idea to go outside and take a walk!
watching you fail in your quest for a “one watch” has been great entertainment

Oh well, I should have gone for a red XII instead of the red VI. I'd just like to add that the red VI is optional .

My problem really was to pick my 5 favourite designs, because most of the designs are great! Well done everyone.

Just voted for the 3. I feel the designs are not as strong as the 65.

I am not voting as It will be extemely unlikely I shall buy one; due to my recent spending spree.

However if I was to vote it would be for number 1, although preferably without the red 12, which cheapens it a litle for me. Some great designs people

Go ahead and vote. It will probably be June before we get the FLE.

What Kip said! :)

I am very surprised and heartened to see good support for the Flanders Poppy. Perhaps we can sweet talk Chris into making something like it for the centenary of the Somme in 2016 or even the Armistice in 2018.

However, if you study the early history of wristwatches you will understand that the Red 12 or XII, far from cheapening it, was an integral design feature.

Thanks Guys, i have voted for this special design; also like the idea of linking it to other dates. I am not sure of being able to purchase but you never know and then there is pre-owned down the line. I hope the forum chooses something unique and not something...
