Now we're talking. Both the Victoria watches (square and round) represent a return to form given recent previews. I can see a birthday pressie for Mrs SwampDonkey here I think.

*sigh of relief*

OK, sanity has returned with the Victoria range. :)

Of course, the question is still - any automatics in that range?

While I generally do like the shape and look of the rectangular Victoria:

1. I'm also a bit iffy about the short, squat hour hand. The circle on it seems disproportionately large;

2. I do want a look at the side profile of the case, because I'm not sure how the "frame" around the crystal fits with the rest of the case below it.

I wouldn't raise your hope too high...unless, of course, the "drip-feed" release is saving the best till last. I hope so, 'cos I'm looking for something "sporty" for a 21st prezzie (36mm diver or chrono... [-o<)

The Victorias are nice, though. Fingers crossed for you!

Needs a rethink on the final designation...Victoria Square sounds as if it should be in the middle of Manchester...plus, it ain't square!

Another good one! Very nice.

Seems to be a balance between the 'fashion watch' approach and the more classic/conventional look.

Cheers,
Jack.

Again, like the round Victoria, this is much more like I would expect a CWL women's watch to look.

From an aesthetic point of view, I'm not convinced by the deformation of the smaller Roman numerals around the dial - the narrow rectangular face would seem to me to suit simple batons more than squished numbers, although I appreciate that using just 12 and 6 (where there is more space) might make it look a bit too much like the Emily.

I can see why the hour hand looks as it does -- and it certainly retains a connection to the design of the round Victoria -- but I'd agree that making the circle towards the tip of the hand a little smaller might make the proportions a little better.

Not necessarily one I'd get my wife but I certainly don't dislike it.

CW really need to make a gents watch in this style... the C15 is simply too large and too square. This look more like vintage longines and oris watches of days gone by. something about 20mmx38mm would look good.

Agree, but I'd actually also like to see a really nice tonneau-shaped watch from CW as well.

This is more like it; seems much more aimed at the older lady and seems to work better than the round. Though i feel the emily a fairly week design it still wins overall as the best womans watch from this new range.
I miss all the great things that may never be.

I've heard a rumor that there will be a complimenting range of mens watches called "Albert"

This range is topped by the Albert Square & the Prince Albert. :D

I like the Emily and this, but this has a MUCH nicer bracelet. I'm hoping one of the new line please SWMBO, as she keeps coming back to Cartier Tank Francaise pieces as her 'grail'. If she actually wore her watches more than once a month I might consider it, but not unless I know she'll actually wear it. Might have to run the diamond Emily past her...
