Let me think about that one...
My first thought is that it'll be a bit of a Marmite, lovers and haters.
Any info on the mechanism and price point?

Re: C9 Jump Hour
Designed for the US market I imagine. Unlikely to be in the current price range. I've never seen anyone waring a jump hour watch. I wonder if anyone else has?st-rider wrote:Ok...Kip wrote:You may remember this from the chat photos but now we have a few different shots

Re: C9 Jump Hour
So the VIII represents (on the photo's) the hours, the hand the minutes .. right ?
Its diverent. Its not your standard 10 in a box watch.
But thats why i like it though.

Re: C9 Jump Hour
Came back for a second look.
Maybe because it's a watch I'm wanting to like.
Second thoughts are that the spiders web dial would irritate me.
Mentally I'm trying to form it into a spiral or concentric circles.
Remembering the chat I think this watch was flagged as a statement piece from CW so I'm thinking the price point would be above that for the C90 and C9 Harrison chrono. So that'd be £800+ GBP, possibly £1000 ballpark?
Will drop by for a third look anon, Alex

Looks quite interesting, but I wonder who would actually buy and wear one.
Also, I don't like how CWL's name on the dial appears to be a little sticker or plaque stuck onto the dial.

Re: C9 Jump Hour
I think this is a fantastic statement piece for CWL. Surely, it is not designed for mass appeal, but instead at a specific market sector, and as a halo product for the brand.
If memory serves (from the chat), it is going to be £1100-£1200...
I really like it, although I think it may be better with an arabic hour font, rather than the romans.
Overall, a very brave move.

Re: C9 Jump Hour
I agree that this is a bit special and could be seen as a statement piece for CW. I wouldn't be surprised if it was just below £1k - so given that, doesn't it warrant its own case? the C9 case is nice enough, but this needs some variation on it at least, especially to justify being 3 times the price of the basic C9.st-rider wrote:Came back for a second look.

Re: C9 Jump Hour
Curiously I'm not adverse to paying £1000-£1200 for a CWL statement piece. This just isn't for me. A really nice conventional watch with some nice complications, eg moon phase whatever, would do more for me.

Re: C9 Jump Hour
1000 - 1200 Pounds ?
About that dail ... what about a clean dail ? Maybe in white, maybe another color (silver / grey, black ?).
Maybe multiple color versions of that watch ?

Yuk! That is truly awful, I'll keep my £1000 thank you, in fact I would'nt buy it if it was £100, and I'd sell it if somebody gave it to me!!

Re: C9 Jump Hour
Ummmm. Let me see, how do I phrase this?
Oh yes, that's it:
"Nope."
There is a reason for dials and hands: the ability to 'glance', rather than 'read' the observed parameter (time, in this case, but it goes for each instrument that has a dial and one or more hands). I could not read the time on this without my glasses, which makes this a form-over-function-thing. I don't mind design, but when it gets in the way of functionality, I pass.
I am not smitten by the design either. The raised "Christopher Ward London" thingy hits me as a 'sticker brand' afterthought. I know that sounds harsh, but that is how it comes across for me.

Man with one watch, always know time. Man with many watches, never sure.

Nice, but not with that dial, it looks like something Spiderman's alter-ego would wear
