Finally a White on black datewheel

Now, can this be reverse fitted to my C8 Mk1?

Rob
agreed on the datewheel, if only the date window did not have the silver surround, totally out of keeping with the overall look... :(
True, that little silver circle really cheapens the look.

Well it's not perfect, black second hand on black face, black suround on hands and silver ring around date window. :(
On the positive side black date wheel at last, great look and nice light tan strap. 8)
No more Quartz (except when I cannot resist).

Lost a tiny bit of appeal since its photoshop incarnation but still agreeable......would look epic with a black pvd case! (and loose the shiny date frame)

Almost perfect, but please tell me the shiny date surround will not be on the production model.

So, I hope it was an accident in the mock-up that the white date is cool blue-white instead of the same warm cream of the numerals etc. Weird to have a vintage-y white on the dial and a mod white on the date. Like it a lot though.

Not entirely certain about this but i don't think Switzerland has really gotten around to making fully colour matched date wheels yet - its surely on their list of things to do though.

Don't hold you breath, Swiss watch makers are so conservative about change that could take the best part of this century!
I think Orson Wells summed it up...
Harry Lime (Orson Wells) wrote:...You know what the fellow said – in Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace – and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock...

I've been staring at this, on and off, for the last few days and I'm starting to get twitchy. Do we know when it's likely to be available to buy?

My best guess is preorders in September sometime.

Thanks, Kip. Excuse the newbie question (and sense of desperation  ) but how long from the pre-ordering until watches are actually available?

Just wondering too if the new strap on this will be a bit smaller to be more in line with the rest of the CWL range?

Well, this one will be my first C8 purchase. :)

I just wish there was a PVD version (like the ltd edition Blackhawk that I read about following a search today). :(
