Like others, I'd love to know the price...
This watch featured in 'Mail on Sunday'-Live magazine today 31st July.Price quoted was £799.

Argh, can I just say that the lack of apostrophes in CWL's Product Writeup for the C700 irritates me? There are also other issues with the sentences that irk me.

Wooot 860 pounds, thats not cheap for the version with the bracelet. For that kind of money i can buy myself an equally nice or maybe even better looking Hamilton Jazzmaster Chrono.. Too bad

the elabore version of the Sellita SW500 automatic movement which is a mechanical work of art in itself.
I thought the C700 was powered bij a Valjoux 7750 Swiss movement ?

How good is a Sellita SW500 ?

The Sellita SW500 is virtually identical all around in spec and performance to the 7750. The difference is that they are available.

Obviously CWL has no issues with this, as they must still back it with the 60/60.

Reading on here and other places some say their Sellita movement watches are more accurate and/or reliable than an equivalent ETA movement also in their collection. So certainly on the quality issue I doubt there will be any problems. I believe it will be a question of perception , ETA being around longer and in more watch brands. That said I think I also read Sellita started out making stuff (or was it assembly?) for ETA.

There may be a certain amount of "well Sellita can't be as good as ETA because it's not an ETA". That's a bit of a silly argument if you think about it. For some reason I'm reminded of the arguments for and against X-Box vs PS3. Entrenched and unshakable views on both sides.

Just some thoughts to mull over, Alex :D

I did a simple Google search and it appears that the SW 500 was only recently introduced. As such, there doesn't appear to be much feedback on the web yet.

This is unlike the Sellita 200, which has been around for some time and for which there is sufficient firsthand assessment of its performance.

Looks like CW got caught by the ETA movement shortage (I thought this watch was going to have the 7750 movement, too).

The SW500 movement was introduced at Baselworld 2010 & is a clone of the ETA 7750 movement.

I see that you can have 3 types of strap with this watch - which one is best? at the moment I am torn between the rubber and the bracelet.

Everyone will have a favourite. It depends on which you like. Plus a lot of people on this forum like to change the straps on their watches. I would say buy it on the bracelet and add a rubber strap so that you can change it around.

IMO:

Add Emerald Green Highlights...the buttons, and select highlights in the watch. Pure carbon fiber is nice, but highlights would make this thing POP
