At £95 and £105 respectively, these new deployants ain't cheap!Sifion wrote:Just found new pics.
Look like they are going bespoke, Kip. I see no keepers...

Re: New buckles
It's really not as noticeable as you may think. I have a generic Omega-style deployant that I have used with a C3 leather strap. You know the fixed keeper is there, but no one else has ever noticed it. If it really bothers you, the fixed keeper can easily be cut off with a sharp craft knife or razor blade. The question now, is will CW sell the deployants separately.Seeing the new buckle made me think that it won't look good on the already existing straps, mostly because of the fixed keeper. The floating one could be removed but the other one will remain there with no real funcion and might look odd.

In the pictures the straps do not have the quick release feature.

Re: New buckles
I think those pictures are showing what the clasp looks like from both sides when closed. The long side slips into the clasp for adjustment and does quick release by pressing the buttons on both sides of the clasp.ianblyth wrote:In the pictures the straps do not have the quick release feature.

Re: New buckles
Yes indeed. It is shame if they don't have them because that has been one of the great features of the CWL straps. But apart from us forum types I suspect the general buying public will just buy the watch with the strap and wear it until it is worn out and go to a jewelers to get them to put a new one on. So a wasted feature for those people.downer wrote:I think Ian was referring to the quick-release pins at the lug end..

Re: New buckles
No price information yet. They probably won't be available seperately for a bit yet. They are to be phased in across the line.

I have been informed that these should have the quick release springbars when they are shipped.ianblyth wrote:In the pictures the straps do not have the quick release feature.

Could you share a secret with us? Anymore models that we should expect still this year?

Re: New buckles
If the price for them separately is not to high it might be worth swapping my existing ones for the new ones as they do look better then the existing ones and hopefully easier to use.
Any ideas when the price will be revealed?
Regards
Kevin

Re: New buckles
I must say I rather like the new look, and might hope to buy one when the strap on my C9 GMT wears out (although that does not appear imminent).

I can't see straps & buckles on the main site - does that mean there's something new in the pipeline?
