Re: C1000 Typhoon
My most anticipated new CWL for sure!
Looking forward to seeing how this one ends up.
I think I prefer the one with the roundel as well.

Not convinced by the minutes rather than hours but it looks pretty good. CWL are definitely expanding their IWC range, though!

Re: C1000 Typhoon
This one certainly does pack in a lot of design cues and I do worry that it will look busy in real life. The tales of smashed ceramic cases would worry me too.

Did anyone notice that the spec calls for a museum grade crystal?

put in batons instead and this would be far better...
don't know why we need numbers anyway - I know roughly where they are!

2 very good comments, I love this watch if it wasn't for the chopped off numbers it would be perfect.. on my want list for sure though.. its one of my pet peeves although I may dislike it I do own a very nice c70us though, and I do wear that a lot so could probably live with it

Re: C1000 Typhoon
I agree completely. Maybe just leave those numbers off. After all, there are bar markers there and we all know what the missing numbers are. I do like the watch overall and can't wait to see the finished product.highway62 wrote:Subdials "eating" numerals, one of my pet hates.

I think this one will be pre-oredered.. keenly anticipated indeed!
Do you think Chris would mind if I lodged a protest against those chopped off numbers in favor of markers?

I like it and will definitely order. Will there be a choice re the sub-dial - i.e the RAF logo or not? {Or have I confused myself re ths??}

Re: C1000 Typhoon
I believe the intent is for both models to be available. That could change of course, but that is what I am led to believe at this time.mabotham wrote:I like it and will definitely order. Will there be a choice re the sub-dial - i.e the RAF logo or not? {Or have I confused myself re ths??}

Re: C1000 Typhoon
Keenly anticipating this one as well...Here are my concerns/thoughts:
1. Cermic shell? How does that work? Is it like a DLC coating or a thicker sort of shell? Are we going to get the worst of both wolds with chipped off ceramic surfaces and exposing of the tittanium surface underneath (as with DLC)? Hmmm
2. As others have pointed not a huge fan of the minute markings as apposed to hour markings...even less a fan of numerals being eaten off...I suspect the design would be a lot less cluttered with either hour markings or even baton markers as someone suggested
3. A lot of referencing going on for sure...I wonder if its bordering on gimmicky...then again I do love a bit of aspiration

Before anyone asks, having reread the transcript of 'Chat with Chris 2013' the price is quoted from Chris "Around £1,500 . . . not sure how this compares with the top gun these days . . .".
I'm torn between this and the C8 Regulator as one to buy. If I get the Typhoon I'd probably sell my C40 Speedhawk (due to similarities in size, movement etc.) but the Regulator is unique (in the CWL range at least).
