I wouldn't put it that strongly but I do share your displeasure. It makes the piece neither fish nor fowl.

Why the "salmon/pink" sub-dial center? Since the whole watch seems to have cues from the fighter, where does that pink/baby blue come from?

The cut-out numerals don't realy bother me, they are well done in this case. The combo triangle /numerals on the other hand do a bit.

From the little i`ve read about pilot watches that triangle was used to determine the "upright" position of the watch (aka know where the 12 was) and either it had lumed batons + lumed hands or just hands so could figure out the time in the pitch black night by the position of the hands on the dial.

""Distinctive was the essential triangle marker at 12 o’clock with two dots on both sides. The triangle marker was used for the upward orientation of the dial during night flight. Furthermore, it was also used as a solar compass to find the earth’s true north in conjunction with sextants, compass and data charts""
Taken from: http://www.calibremagazine.com/node/305

So to me numbers cancel the why that triangle was needed for. I've seen a CW that had numerals and batons and the triangle, but only the triangle and batons glow.

The watch should have batons because of the above, becase more people get annoyed by cut-out numerals then cut-out batons and because that would still look great and take the design a little far away from IWC (and that can be a good thing).

After all the above, it still doens't bother me enough to say no, but i'm considering the Worldtimer first because of the more unique design.

Still waiting for a Prototype picture to make up my mind. Do we get to see things like these?

Cheers,
Sifion.

Thanks, know that i know where it comes from doesn't look like a strange colour scheme.

Good looking but not for me, would rather have a date than a chronograph.
No more Quartz (except when I cannot resist).

This is a nice looking watch, but I suspect if it uses a 7750 variant movement it will be too deep/high for me. Also I suspect the big second hand is for the chrono only so there will be no regular second hand (as per the C9 chrono), which I don't really like. I like to see a sweeping hand even if it's only on a subdial.

Would be nice if the face was done in white/silver as per the C9 Crono, personnel preference, I have only 2 faced black watches and they see very little wrist time, much prefer the clean looks of the white faced watches.

Any chance of seeing this in anything other than black?

I think that a bit further up the thread it says that an indicative price is around £1,500

Thanks Alasdair, I see it now, should have looked.

Bit gutted as that is definitely out of my price range for now.

The nylon strap on this would look excellent on my C8 Blackhawk, I'm thinking! :-k

I agree completely.

Might give it a try when they become available. :)

There is a strap like this already on the market, anyone know who makes it?
