Good question, Iain. As you can see in the photo I took on Sunday, there is an element of refraction through the cyclops. The picture below shows it more clearly. Positioning of the cyclops does mean that the business end of the pointer is not affected, though it can be a trifle annoying. Having said that, this is not a watch that I ever really intend to wear if I need to get up between 5.30 and 6.30 in the morning. And even on holiday, at the other end of the day, it would be a trifle early to be struggling myopically to read the time through a drink fuddled set of eyes and brain!

Mini SOTC - AVO’s Blue Period

Very nice sub-collection, Steve.

What's the lug width of the Metris? I have a nice blue CW Alligator strap that I'd be happy to send to you, but at 22mm I suspect it will not fit?

(apologies for the fingerprints on the clasp).

A very kind thought, Richard. Your suspicion is correct - the Metris is 20mm. But thank you.

An update:

I have now worn these watches exclusively for 2 weeks - mainly the C65 and the Metris. Both of these have been kept going.

The C65 would typically lose about 5 s/d when it was only worn for a couple of days. I set it 5 days ago and it has maintained +2 s/d over that period. Kept wound and either worn or dial up.

More difficult to tell with the MS. It was set 2 weeks ago and looks to have lost about half a minute. Either worn or on winder.

I'm pretty happy with that. It supports my theory that watches like to be worn and kept running.

Lovely little collection of 'Blues' you have there Steve. I have to agree with you on the C65's nice relaxed vibe. Especially on the bracelet. I wish I'd bought my bracelet sooner. It's transformed my enjoyment of mine.

Six of the watches in my collection are blue dial.
They have a great appeal for sure.
