Thanks Steve - occasionally part of me does wonder if I could ever be a one / two watch man and trade them all but I would still get the itch for more I’m sure

I’ve been giving this more thought lately and have found myself doing a lot of procrastination as to what, if any I would shift out to help accommodate what I would class a grail and slim the collection down.

So, I thought i would put it to the forum and see what the consensus here would be. What would you do? What do you see as an ideal size collection? What pieces would you include, a dress, a pilot and a chrono perhaps?

In terms of my grails I would looking at, and in no particular order, IWC Portuguese Chronograph, Milgaus (green crystal), submariner no date (black), IWC Mark XVIII Petit Prince (on leather).

What would you shift on if you were me in order to acquire one of these pieces? Only stipulation is that the CW must stay...and the nomos moving on would be a last resort but I could swallow it going if necessary.

Over to you...

^^^ Possibly a question that should be asked as a new thread in the main “other brands” forum, rather than in an SOTC post, as you’re more likely to get more visibility there...

Thanks for posting a photo the GS. That dial really is a beautiful shade of blue.

I'd be more than happy to call it a day with the collection you already have, although I think another light dial could be in order ... and possibly a brightly coloured wildcard.
This is all going to boil down to personal preference, but some of your current pieces hold my interest much more than the grails you mentioned (which btw are undeniably great watches).

So...let’s entertain a bit of a game.

In the last 3 weeks there have been two sales from the original SOTC post in March and there is one incoming.
I had always had in my mind that my next incoming would be a grail and in some ways it is...but it’s something that only very recently moved into that category for me. Why only recently? Well perhaps that could be part of the clue...how recently? Wishing the last 4 months.

That’s all you’re getting for now in way of clues.
Which two have gone and what is coming?

It’s pretty easy to get one of the sales ..

^^^^ You have sold the Solo.

Possible new addition, a Baselworld 2018 release. Maybe a Tudor BB58 or BB-GMT?

Ok...so I may regret the other sale in the future as it will likely increase in price a little.

As for the purchase, it’s one I think Reggie will be jealous of
