Looking at the ding on the bezel @ 57 and the 10 o'clock marker with a triangular bit missing; that's the watch Greg bought.

Re: Azur watches, does anyone know anything about them?
It’s probably one of multitude of “house” branded watches that abounded in the sixties Greg. You may find the same dial and case with a different name to the dial, and most likely the same movement inside as well. In some instances you may find the same dial in a different case or vice versa; only the name on the dial is probably going to be different...
I have quite a few of them in my collection: watches made by one company, but for sale under several different names. IMO it doesn’t devalue owning such a watch, but it does make it hard finding information on them.
The Landeron chronograph movement was a solid, but mostly unremarkable movement - except in one respect: it launched dozens of different brand names and hundreds of different watch styles onto the market; it was cheap, but it was both reliable and cheaply and easily serviced. They sold by the bucketloads, but the good thing was that everyone had a different case and dial combination to put them in.

Re: Azur watches, does anyone know anything about them?
Interestingly, Azur is an old French watch brand (first registered in 1890) that seems to have been revived at a later date. There are registrations for Azur dating to 1909 and 1911 under the manufacturer's name, "Gaston Weil", with the company being "Gold- und Silberschmied, 68 rue de Bondy, Paris, Frankreich" The brand name was later used at 9 Boulevard Saint Denis in the same locality by Myrtil Israel, as a registration of 22 February 1924 shows.
My feeling is that the Azur brand has been a French watch brand for at least most of its working life, probably being actively used on and off over the years. The existence of a relatively modern quartz watch on eBay branded Azur and with the legend, Made in France, on the dial, shows that the brand was in use not that long ago.
