Don't know the complete history, but the numbers do match between the movement and case. Never seen this (original)? leather wrapped spring steel band. No buckle.
Time and money? I’ve spent most of mine on booze and women. The rest I just wasted…

Do you have any photos of the case back?

That strap is interesting - never seen one like that.

This was originally a WW2 ere JLC, the Air Ministry recased it in 1956.

:silent: Thanks for the interest. Here are some pics. The watch is actually more secure on the band than it would appear, as things tighten up with the spreading of the band, as it is quite small when off. Some will say this band was made to be worn over top of your sleeve. Other research suggests (not that I am a collector of such things) that it was a requirement of the luftwaffe that the numbers between case and movement match. Any information you might have is always appreciated.😀
Sadly I don't have the history with my watch that you have with yours. Great stuff.
