WWII Era JLC
Don't know the complete history, but the numbers do match between the movement and case. Never seen this (original)? leather wrapped spring steel band. No buckle.
Time and money? I’ve spent most of mine on booze and women. The rest I just wasted…

Do you have any photos of the case back?
That strap is interesting - never seen one like that.
This was originally a WW2 ere JLC, the Air Ministry recased it in 1956.
