Re: Vintage Gallery
Got my Seiko 7009-8270 on tonight for a change.
Dates to Mar '89 and features a quickset date and day advanced by pushing the crown in.
Case size is ~37mm which is perfect for me. Wide angle lens is distorting it on my wrist.
Bought it a little bashed up, fitted a new crystal (dial was pristine) and gave the case a light rub with cape cod to bring some shine back.
Haven't bothered with a service as it's running at ~ +50s/day.

It was one of a bunch of vintage Seiko and Citizen watches that I bought with the intention of cleaning up, servicing and then selling on.
And you know what ... I haven't sold a single one. They all looked too bloody good once I'd give them a little TLC, so I've kept them all.
I'll eventually move some of them on, but enjoying them for the time being.
I'll get round to posting the others with a little description shortly.

Wearing my April '79 Seiko 7025-8100 at work today on a black Eulit Kristall perlon. Case is 37mm diameter and apart from the 20mm lug width, dimensions are pretty much identical to my GS SBGX061 which I'd consider it a fairly large watch for it's year.
Again, no need for servicing as timekeeping is good and crystal only has a few hairline scratches so leaving it untouched. I did give the case a very, very light re-brush and cape cod treatment on the polished parts to restore some former glory.
This is probably my favourite vintage that I own, definitely a nod to the Oyster Precision 6694 minus the 4 o'clock crown.
What attracted me to this particular watch was that the crisp lines between brushed and polished surfaces are still evident, whereas most examples I came across on t'internet had obviously been overpolished at some point in their lifetime, so I count myself lucky to have nabbed this one.

Looks to be in lovely condition, without being too 'new'.

Shhhhhh, don't turn everyone on to these! I love the look of these Seikos and they seem to be very underappreciated while everyone is having their head turned by bigger names -- I'm hoping to bag myself a bargain with careful shopping.StrappedUp wrote:Wearing my April '79 Seiko 7025-8100 at work today on a black Eulit Kristall perlon. Tudor Charity Shop Find
This is one of my charity shop finds. It was just a few pounds. I gave the charity quite a bit more in the event (one of my favourite local charities). Not the best charity shop find I've had but a pretty good one.
Four CWs and too many others to list!
And loads of clocks.
And bicycles.
