2013 FLEC progress report #4

Post by Kip »

This may not be a very interesting report as far as overall news is concerned, but here it is....

Since the last report the FLEC has chosen 3 versions that we have been diligently working on. It really is amazing how much you can do within a finite area, such as a dial.

We are developing each model by trying virtually all suggestions and then deciding if they work within each concept or not. Mixing and matching has kept the Photoshop crew on their toes. This has been a most tedious, yet exciting, period of development.

Over the past several days we have narrowed down 2 of the 3 to where we shall be able to do the final tweaking. We hope to finalize the last model and tweak that as well over the next few days.

When we have all 3 where we want them we shall submit to Chris to verify that we will be as close to the parameters as possible. At this point, we do not anticipate any issues.

We are hoping to complete the tweaking and have them submitted to Chris for evaluation in about a week. This means that we are essentially on schedule.

We are not prepared yet to offer any sneak previews, but I do think you will like the options. We are very excited over the way things have been progressing.

One of the issues the FLEC has faced is getting everyone to contribute on a daily basis. Because of the short timeframes we are working with, this can be difficult. We just hate it when life gets in the way of more important things like building a new watch.

You will be pleased to know that every FLEC member has made every effort to keep their participation to a maximum level. The dedication shown by everyone is most impressive. When the time comes, I am sure you will agree it has been worth it.

Stay tuned...
Kip

A week? We need to bring back forced labour. Only kidding, I think we all appreciate the work the FLEC is doing on our behalf. Thanks team.

Indeed! Good work, chaps -- looking forward to seeing the concept work! :D

For anyone who is interested, there are quite a lot of new pics of the stock C10 Aviator on the CWL website. The basic case, in its bead-blasted finish, looks very nice. I definitely think that brushed with a polished bezel would be a good way forward for the FLE... [hint... (!)].

I might just have to give in and get an original C10!

Last time I logged into the forum the discussions were on the 2012 FLE! Have I really been away that long? I am looking forward to seeing the 2013 FLE.
