Nope. We used a random number generator. ;)

It's just that virtually nothing can be done for under £300 but £350 might have been viable for something C5 auto based.
Plenty of options using quartz below £300...and maybe we could get a C5 based LE under £300....

Likewise up to £500 would maybe have given more space for C9 / C11 / C60 based options....
We would like to think we could get a C9/C11/C60 FLE inside £450 (base price on leather/rubber), although clearly, it depends on the level of modification.

We also recognise that £450 is already probably above the average of what people spend on a CW, and £500 may feel like a step too far for many of the members....

In the end, our price points are not guaranteed - they are targets. If the forum selects £450 and THE PERFECT C60/C9/C11 BASED FLE was to be priced at £475 because we (the forum) have insisted on a whizz-bang new crown..., I'd like to think the forum members would understand.

Oh, I dunno, downer... you know how we can be an unruly bunch.

Seriously though, I think you're right about this. There's got to be a certain elasticity to these ranges. I think most of us would be willing to do a little bit of stretching for the sake of a good watch.

Random generator  Good one

Quartz a possibility         Even funnier!

Elastic parameters  Good, I can downgrade to £450 and let that stretch rather than stick at £600 and pray it comes in well under :D

2013 FLE Price Point Poll

Post by MiniMpi »

Voted ;)
Don't have a big budget so the £300 would be great but I'm realistic in that for an FLE you have to pay more so I voted for £450 and would like maybe a C11 or even another C60 this time with a white face perhaps.

Oooh, I have been flip flopping on this between the £450 and £600. Hopefully it will pitch in somewhere between and of a style that I would like to buy.

I guess the crunch comes at the design stage when people will decide if they are in or out.

Nice to be part of the process though and keep up the good work!

I've opted for up to £600 which is what I'm prepared to go up to for the right watch.

I think, going by the result so far - and I accept it's early yet, that £450 is a good price point and I'm sure we can get a very nice watch for around that figure. There may have to be compromises along the way in terms of style, movement etc but I'm sure we are all prepared for that.

Keep up the good work.

£450 should allow an auto/mechanical movement to be used & then it comes down to style & the ingenuity of the FLEC.

I personally believe that one cannot expect much under GBP600...... The FLE is supposed to be something special and if the price is limited too much the options are less and we just end up with another LE watch that nobody wants.....

Understood, but please bear in mind that the alternative could end up with us producing a LE watch that a lot of members can't afford!
In the end, it's our collective call, the whole forum that is, and we are trying to establish something that everyone can feel a part of if they wish.

Sounds good, especially for £450. Now that's a suitable challenge for the FLEC
