2013 FLE - Watch Style poll
Oh well. I was in the minority. Being a Scot that's familiar. still likely to buy though.
Re: 2013 FLE - Watch Style poll
I demand a recount!!!
Not my first choice but more than happy with the outcome as sport was a very close second choice for me.
Looking forward to the next stage.

Welcome Magnus! It seems your questions haven't been answered directly yet. So: all members are welcome to purchase a FLE. It's a question of ordering before all are spoken for. There will be plenty of warnings, as Kip has said. Luckily nobody has to prove worthy.Magnus wrote:This is my first post so - go easy...
I currently own the C8 Pilot Mk II, C7 Rapide Chronograph MK I and the Battle of Britain memorial Flight (speedhawk?)
I have voted for the sports option - however, as only a new member will I even be allowed to purchase one? Do you have to prove your worth 'time served' first?
You already have some CW watches. How about some pictures in the general discussion thread?

The Battle of Britain is a C5 watch and the SpeedHawk is the C40 automatic chronograph. There was also the BlackHawk which was a Ltd Ed of 200 of a PVD version of the C8 Pilot Mk I.Magnus wrote:I currently own the C8 Pilot Mk II, C7 Rapide Chronograph MK I and the Battle of Britain memorial Flight (speedhawk?)

Not my first choice either but I was eying up the new C7 Mk II as a sports offering so we might get something like that

I have started a thread in the strap forum as my C8 is far too long. Although i used a pic from the CW website. It is a tad hard to interact as my posts have to be approved (fair enough) first.
Shamefully I only have a camera phone but will sort some decent pics this weekend.
Again, many thanks for the info.
2015 FLE, 2013 FLE, C60 Black, C11 Makaira Pro 500 Blue, C8 Pilot Mk II, , C7 Rapide MK I, C4 Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

Re: 2013 FLE - Watch Style poll
Interesting. It may not be a resounding majority but "Sports" is clearly the "first-past-the-post" winner.
Sports is such a broad category compared to, say, "Aviator" which has a very specific look; it will be interesting to see how this pans out!

True, but I wonder if we have any mathematicians, statisticians or actuaries out there who could comment on the significance of 46% in a 5 horse race.Aesculapius wrote: It may not be a resounding majority ...

Re: 2013 FLE - Watch Style poll
46% is certainly significant statistically if you compare it with the expected "random" value of 20% (any more than 41 votes would be significant at the 1% level) but the real problem is first-past-the-post systems.
Of course, a single-transferable-vote system is impossible to instigate on this forum and, in any case, we had a referendum where the public agreed with our lords and masters: we, the plebs, are too thick to understand a different voting system so we'd best leave it to the posh boys with their private school and Oxbridge educations to decide what's best for us.

2013 FLE - Watch Style poll
Well, no FLE has ever sold out on the first day so if your a regular forum member and visit at least every other day you should be fine.mabotham wrote:Loddonite wrote:No... more than 50% have expressed a preference for something else.mabotham wrote:The trouble with that is more than 50% do not want it!
Correct. So will those who do not prefer something go on to buy it?
Time will tell.
Is a production of 100? First come first serve or will longer-serving members get priority?
Would seem wrong they they do not.
Plus you have to like and the want the thing in the first place!!!'

Well sports wasn't my first choice either!
What's the point of sitting on the damned FLEC if I can't get what I blooming well want! ;(
See what democracy does, I am happy for a coalition as long as it a coalition of one and it's me in charge! ;P
1st Poll down and a step closer to the 2013 FLE

Arr...but what's the p value on that significance?Mortis wrote:46% is certainly significant statistically if you compare it with the expected "random" value of 20% (any more than 41 votes would be significant at the 1% level).
Totally agree on the single transferable vote. Bloody public rather keep a broken system than try something new!
