What to do about the Final 3?
I am inclined to move ahead with the voting as originally planned, but.......
There have been enough good points made, in my view, to warrant an answer as to what the majority prefer to do with the final 3.
This whole process has been very quick and transparent so far and I would like to continue as such. Therefore you get to decide.
1 vote - 2 days...then we move on accordingly.

Continue as planned. The process was outlined at the start. No reason to change now.

Why not have one more elimination round ? There's no hurry.

Re: What to do about the Final 3?
My first thought is to go ahead as previously planned.
The outline of the voting system was in place before this all started and no-one (correct me if I'm wrong) suggested anything radically different.
Besides, it's not cricket to move the goalpost in the middle of a match

Re: What to do about the Final 3?
I suggested previously asking our voters the question of whether or not they plan to purchase the watch design you are voting for. To go off the same idea, here's a random suggestion:
Why not have two polls simultaneously for the final round? One official poll and one popular poll. This way we can continue with the final 3 vote as planned. All 3 in the final round. (1 vote 1 watch in each poll)
--
Poll #1 is which of the final 3 designs would you purchase? (OFFICIAL POLL)
A. The Wilko
B. The Scooter
C. The Red Jag
D. None of the above
Poll #2 is which of the final 3 designs do you like the best? (POPULAR POLL)
A. The Wilko
B. The Scooter
C. The Red Jag
D. None of the above

Re: What to do about the Final 3?
I don't understand the point of this 'would you buy it poll'. Isn't it obvious that you would buy a watch you like rather than dislike and that if you are voting wouldn't you vote for a watch you like.
Unless the 'would you buy it?' question becomes a binding contract it is worthless - or am I missing something here?

Seems a bit overkill to have another elimination round.

Just in case anyone has forgotten, a further elimination round is designed to prevent the following happening.village wrote:Seems a bit overkill to have another elimination round.
Red Jag 50 votes
Wilko 48 votes
Scooter 48 votes
50 votes for Red and 96 votes for Blue.
The huge enthusiasm for Red seems to be shared by relatively few members and if it wins I suggest sales will be low. Either of the Blues may well be acceptable to far more members to make the 2012FLE a sales success. I may be totalling wrong in my assumptions and would welcome a counter view.

I think if this was the case then the 3 white ones would have outnumbered all of them ( possibly ), so if red gets 50 and the other 2 blue,s get 48 each then RED WINS surely.
VOTE WHITE...

umm...so its a straight vote and the majority wins. You are voting for the watch you like not what might make the best sales.
So you have another elimination round and you get the above results. Do you do it over and over until you get a loser?
Let's say Wilko gets clearly eliminated and you are left with a straight vote between the other two...result is JAG 51% scooter 49%.....is that any more indicitive of colour preference than your example?
Personally i like all of them in different ways (except for the flippin onion) so if i voted,it would be a marginal 'best'.
If you can read this you are too close to your computer screen....

The balance of probabilities is, that if you have a further elimination round one of the blues will be eliminated. Then in the final round it will be a simple choice between red and blue. Very healthy, very exciting and a clear winner!
