I think that is going to be a vote splitter - That's a pity be cause I quite like the 'original' jmarchitect version.jmarchitect wrote:What is the difference between this one and my version?misc720 wrote:Edit: I figured out how to do it. I'd like to submit this:

If I ask pretty pretty please, would one of the photoshop gurus do the following for me:
Take the Footycrazy1 and put on it the aluminum bezel from the JMarchitect2.
I'd like to submit that as an entry, but I have no photoshop skills whatsoever.
Much thanks.

The speed is simply down to one thing: Restriction.
CW has said this model, this case, this handset, this movement and a single dial design.
We are just choosing the "paint-job"
This is great for a one-off, but the novelty would soon wane if this was the only method of choice every year.

Re: 2012 FLE candidates
Unless I am being dense, I can see no difference between the two. It is a homage of a homage! On a more serious note, how can it find its way into the line-up when it is just a renamed version of my original idea? There was an earlier description of having darker markers but as we are restricted to the stainless markers, the idea simply exists as a copy of mine.Royston 64 wrote:I think that is going to be a vote splitter - That's a pity be cause I quite like the 'original' jmarchitect version.jmarchitect wrote:What is the difference between this one and my version?misc720 wrote:Edit: I figured out how to do it. Assuming yours is a 'silver' dial, then they are in fact different. The other one is 'white'. Therefore, no problem. After all, there are bound to be strong similarities with these images, since we are only colouring-in an existing design.jmarchitect wrote:

Agreed but then it is all in the description- as posted by me at the beginning thus:downer wrote:Assuming yours is a 'silver' dial, then they are in fact different. The other one is 'white'. What we can do.....
1. Pick the dial color- white please!
2. Pick the lume color on the dots and markers- white please!
3. Pick the lume color on the hands- white please!
4. Pick the bezel insert color- natural aluminium please!
5. Pick the bezel print (dots and numbers) color- black please!
6. Pick the minute track color- black please!
7. Pick the bezel dot color- green or white please!
8. We can mix and match colors within reason- but lets not have a liquorice allsorts watch please!
Okay- I may have pushed the brief on the hands but how impossible is it? [end quote]
However, in the interests of progression and to avoid troll-like behaviour, I will let my submission sit as a silver dial, although that was not my intention.

The only difference is the dial color. When I saw yours, I liked it, and I thought I'd like to see it with a white dial. I have no photoshop ability, so I literally used cut and paste with yours and the footycrazy (even though the footycrazy has the black marks which aren't allowed - again, I used what I had).
If there's any concern about originality or vote splitting or whatever, then by all means remove it from the running. No sweat off my back. Just proposing a watch that I would buy.

As I re-read the posts, jmarchitect clearly did specify a white dial. I didn't read that at first, I just saw his mockups and thought it was silver.
So mine should be allocated to him, or combined, or removed. I don't want to be thought of as pilfering others' ideas.

After reviewing the drawings and descriptions I must agree that the white dial was in fact submitted by jmarchitect.misc720 wrote:As I re-read the posts, jmarchitect clearly did specify a white dial. I didn't read that at first, I just saw his mockups and thought it was silver.

It is easy to see, and very understandable, how the drawings colors can be misunderstood. I did it myself...I thought they were different. I will therefore delete the misc720 entry. I am sorry if I have contributed to this confusion.
