If it is to be a diver's tool watch, then the ultimate colour scheme most probably would be...

Black dial/orange markers

Blue dial/orange markers

Till next time...

The Laird :D

So why not look at the colour charts provided and 'put your money where your mouth is'!

Submit a colour scheme with Pantone numbers & Lume Names, like Kip asked, not just 'Black 'n' Orange for me'

It's easy to post 'Vote Now' etc but is it so easy to submit a well thought through proposal?

If you do you might not want the voting to be so fast :D

I see no point in having a FLE that is going to look almost identical to any of the current line up, this is a chance to have a say in something different, that can stand out from the crowd.

If people are so keen to have black & orange etc, why not just buy one of the current GMT's? It doesn't make it special enough to justify the outlay.

Having thought about this I'm now going to wait until the voting is sorted and it's clear what we are looking at.

Also having thought about it more and reading some of the thread entries my criteria for this 2012 FLE is...
...a watch that looks good (not that the Trident doesn't), that is different to the current Trident offerings, that doesn't look like one I'd buy down the hight street (that is it doesn't look like a copy of something I could buy in the high street), that can be worn everyday and for those special occasions, that'd raise a smile when viewed on the wrist and (here's the kicker) would work if I dived in it (maybe not as the best dive watch but wouldn't be totally unusable, lets compromise on snorkelling and swimming pool spontaneous type stuff rather than planned diving).

I think if you read my other comments I've been pretty consistent in this.

I was mentioning what designs I'd eliminate :D
Besides, with 2 thread almost identical it's easy for me to be confused
Just don't anyone start a 2012 FLE Voting discussion titled thread, that'd really confuse me

Expanding on Kip's original post, I was just brainstorming the following proposed voting structure:

Image

Hopefully, the image is legible for everyone.

---

And here would be an example (assuming 100 voter participation) of results:

Round 1 Results

Each Design would receive a score between (100 – 400) and then be ranked accordingly.

The top 10 move on to Round 2

---

Round 2 Results

Candidates - Vote Totals

*Design B - 65
*Design C - 60
*Design G - 51
Design D - 37
Design J - 32
Design F - 21
Design A - 13
Design H - 9
Design I - 8
Design E - 4

The top 3 move on to the Final Round

---

Final Round Results

Winner-Take-All

---

Note #1, for each round there is the question of whether or not you would purchase the watch design. Just threw the idea in there since it seems like it would be useful to know what percentage of voters would actually purchase the watch. It's not necessarily needed for elimination voting but a good fyi.

Note #2, for round 2 if we wanted 5 watch designs to move to the final round instead of 3, the we can simply adjust it so that each voter would vote for no more than FIVE candidates in this round, then the top 5 move to the final round.

---

Anyways, hope you guys follow my logic. If not, feel free to tweak and make adjustments accordingly. Only other thing we'll need to figure out is what to do in the event of a tie.

FLE is in my dreams :hilfe:

Looks good to me as well. Not sure about the 'would you buy' column, it may though be useful to Chris and the team.

Good system

But start by clearing out any designs very similar to the current Trident range e.g. black/orange

After reviewing the amount of candidates and the several voting suggestions that have been sent to me, as well as posted, this is what I think is the best and most efficient way (at least for me) to go for the first round.

I will still let the creative work continue through Saturday June 25 to give as many as possible an opportunity.

I will post all the candidates in a new thread with names and numbers assigned.

You will vote for your top 10 by assigning a value as follows.....

Top choice - 25 points stating the assigned number
2nd choice - 20 points
3rd choice - 15 points
4th choice - 10 points
5th choice - 7 points
6th choice - 5 points
7th choice - 4 points
8th choice - 3 points
9th choice - 2 points
10 choice - 1 point

The top 10 candidates and ties, based on points, will move to the next round.

You need not vote for 10, but may vote for up to 10.

Pms and emails will be considered valid until Midnight (EDT) 3 days after voting opens.

Because of the poll limitations of the forum the votes will be sent via pm or email to myself and 1 volunteer for corroboration. I will need a volunteer for this. Please pm me if interested and available.

Tallying the votes will be done as quickly as possible and the results posted promptly when completed.

How does this sound?
Kip

Sounds Very Agreeable Kip.

My personal feelings are that it may be tad better that everyone HAS to vote for ten in round 1?
I miss all the great things that may never be.

Could I suggest that when we get down to a top 3 or 5, that we explore 'tweaks' to the designs

i.e. maintain the core colour scheme, but allow input to enhance the short listed designs (wether its a simple choice of strap type/colour or a black or metal bezel, etc) - fine tuning.
