I think the simple method of voting is best. We don't need to create a false windfall of votes here, its not the Electoral College.

From what I read, we have 3 proposed voting systems:

1. mine - Multiple-Selection Ballot (manual system, very time consuming, requires everyone to rate every design)

2. Kip #1 - Hybrid Preferential Block Voting (manual system, time consuming, uses weighted point system, rank your top 10 designs)

3. Kip #2 - At-Large Ballot (automated system using forum poll, least time consuming, all votes equal one pt, all voters vote for their top 10 designs)

---

Of course there are pros and cons to all voting systems but for simplicity, I'd say go with the automated system.

Use the forum polls, each voter picks their top 10 designs, and I say lock down the poll results until voting is closed. Afterwards, post up the official results.

I don't mind what voting system we use, just so long as we don't end up with a yellow hut. :)

I am in favour of the automated polling system built into the forum software, keep it as simple as possible.

Most of the designs submitted seem to only variations on a theme anyway, so a final vote on the most popular contenders would sort that out.
No more Quartz (except when I cannot resist).

Sounds fine to me as well.

I did like the idea someone had about the, would you buy? question in the voting system. That also sounded an interesting idea?

Till next time...

I agree, there is a real risk of people voting for watches they have no real intention of buying. There would be nothing worse than there being a winner and only selling a handful.
... So, after the winner is declared, there's a 'who will buy this?' poll.
... and CWL makes half that number to ensure high demand

If Kip still has the will to live - how about an AV type system?

i.e. everyone has a one off vote for their top 5 in order of preference. The least popular designs are eleminated each round and if your personal favourite goes, your vote moves to your 2nd choice, etc. No point in having more than 3-5 choices - who has already seen >5 designs they would part with cash for?

tbh, whatever is decided I'd like to get down to a top 3 and then have an opportunity to suggest tweaks/options to fine tune the best designs before the final vote. If someone has already got it right first time around, it will be seen very quickly in the vote - if not a strap, or lume or bezel tweak might nail it.
