C63 Elite strap showcase

Post by stefs »

Gloomy old day and an hour to kill so thought I would take a few very basic photos of my elite on a variety of straps so any potential buyers can get an idea outside of the stock and excellent titanium bracelet.

Considering I sold all my extra straps once a while ago I seem to have acquired a fair few again.
Some of these work very well and some are pig ugly…….

Thanks for putting that together, Paul. That would have taken a lot of effort, but is very useful.

I think it's fair to say that the C63 Elite has the Speedmaster characteristic of looking good on practically any strap. It is extremely versatile in that regard. So much so that I haven't yet tried mine on its bracelet, but I probably will do sometime this weekend.

To bring things together in one thread, here's the shot of mine on a Hirsch Robby strap...

The Elite looked great on almost all of those, and for the ones on which it didn’t, it’s probably a case of personal taste rather than a bad combination. Thanks for taking the time to share this.

I hope this design sticks around for awhile. It’s incredibly versatile.

I am glad you posted this. I am really close to pulling the trigger on this watch. Do you find it weird you do not see a crown? I know you like this watch, curious what others think. It is a great looking watch, just curious about not seeing a crown.

Personally, the lack of a visible crown doesn't look odd at all when I'm wearing the watch. Beforehand, I thought it might be something that jarred my eyes, but it's been fine.

The only issue with the crown is that it can be a little difficult to wind once there is some power loaded into the watch. But winding it from when it's stopped is fine initially, certainly enough to get it going...and then your wrist movements do the rest anyway. If this was a handwound watch, i.e. non-automatic, then that would be a bigger issue.

Thanks for reply. Yeah, I am thinking it would be fine. It is just different (in a cool way).

Well done, Paul! Extraordinary variety for a versatile watch.
Straps can be a drug, I confess to being an addict :)

Additionally, I must say the Hirsch Robby was maybe the first strap I thought of for a Sealander. Looks great!

Nice gallery. Very informative. They all look pretty good IMO. The two standouts for me were the white and the two tone tan/gold and green NATO.

Very nice, I'm tempted to pick this up. I've been trying to talk myself out of it because I've bought quite a few watches recently including one that looks very similar to this. But all these fantastic pictures of how well it handles straps is making it hard for me.

If your watch wearing is largely conventional round-ish/square-ish thing with sticky-out bit on one side then you'll either take to it like a duck to water or you'll need a bit of time to adjust which is how it was for me. Then you pop the crown out and the dimensions are a bit unsettling too.

I think you'll get there.
