Rehabilitating a trident with a Toshi strap

Post by missF »

I bought a C60 trident 600 GMT three years ago in the run up to ending up in hospital. I never did a ‘honeymoon’ with it, and never ‘bonded’ with it. Since I’ve been home from hospital it’s lain in the to-sell cupboard, not even on a strap.

So recently I decided to rehabilitate it before I make a definite decision on selling, and bought a Toshi Dakota strap which just arrived today. It’s absolutely gorgeous...

Colour and squidginess of gingerbread. Straightaway pliable and wearable from the off. Beautifully made. Looking round Rich ( Toshi)’s website it seems clear he has a passion for this.

So here are some pics ( it looks great on my other watches too!)

Looks great. I’ve had a few Toshi straps from Richard over the years, all of which were bought to go on Tridents. It’s a shame he won’t make tapered straps as I’d have bought a lot more but his straps look best on a bigger watch in my opinion.

Looks terrific on the Trident IMHO.
I agree the non-tapering form seems more suited to the bigger pieces...
Enjoy in good health!

Almost looks like a sponge in the closeup so no wonder it's squidgy. To my eyes it's a bit big for the Tissot but the CWs look great

A GMT is probably not the most useful feature these days but hopefully will come into it's own soon (and I'm not one to complain about a splash of orange )

Looks great on the Trident GMT Lindsey !
It's amazing how a change of strap can reignite a watch for you.
I had a similar thing on a watch recently.

More rehabilitation this morning with the arrival of another new strap. I really like Nigel (StrapMeister)’s explorer 1 on a camo strap, so I wondered if it would suit the C60 GMT. I think it looks great as a funky summer / beach watch

Isn’t it funny how a strap can transform a watch from a Sales Corner candidate to a keeper? I think we probably all know that deep down.

What’s been news to me over the past 3 or 4 months, is that some watches really suit an untapered strap. I’ve bought a couple from Etsy recently & have been more than pleased with the outcome.
