. . .and diving a tad off topic, that's the way they'll be able to fit end links for the C60 Trident Mk2 to the current bracelet.

As long as the center links are the same width it should be smooth sailing.

If you can swap over the QR spring bar, you probably wouldn't need to remove the end links - but I think that might be a tricky exercise to do,

Yes, it would involve removing two small screws... I have the tools, but worried they might be tightened with Loctite as was suggested by someone earlier :?

That is the way to go. It is far less likely that you will damage anything changing out the entire end link. I would be nervous that I would bugger a screw. They gave you spare pins nd collars too so if you bugger one for some reason you are covered.

That's good service! The only challenge will be due to the taper between the end link and first link which might mean you need to jury-rig something to ensure the pin is pushed out squarely. Take your time, use good tools.

Exactly. I'm sure they've done it for that reason, otherwise just send me a replacement QR spring bar

Thanks for the heads up. I do have a full set of watch tools I bought from Amazon few years back, including the pin insertion/removal tool and the plastic block with all the slots and holes (sure it has a name ), which I've used a few times now to resize my bracelets... in fact, I'll be resizing the C65 SH21 bracelet tonight first anyway... or rather re-assigning the links from one side to the other to balance the clasp (as I've done with my others)

Ok, finally had a spare bit of time earlier today and have successfully swapped the end shoulder piece for the one sent from CW...

It was trickier than I thought removing the end with the broken QR spring bar post, as I couldn't actually compress the other end (with its pin intact) inwards enough to remove it, without inserting a needle into the hole on the broken side and compressing that first... it then just popped off as normal.

Changing the shoulder was the same procedure as re-sizing a bracelet... remove the pin (pin removal tool and block/hammer) and then replace with the new part from CW.

One small issue was that the "spare" pins provided by CW were in fact too short (they seem to be the normal pins for other bracelet links! However, I was able to re-use the pin already in the original shoulder and all was fine

Thanks to CW for sending the replacement part out so quickly, and given that the repair department is closed (they did offer to do this for me if required), this worked out most effective

I am however, likely to be keeping the Cranwell on its bracelet now anyway, but at least I will be able to pop it off and change to a strap again, if required

Some photos (as promised)...

That's quite likely. Thinking about it, bracelets have a taper, so the removable links are generally a couple of mm narrower than the lug end. If they sent pins for the removable links they would be shorter, although the collar would be the same.

Now you have a spare end link, you could see whether the screws turn easily or not.

Great job, anyway!

They don't... tried one and even with moderate considerable effort it wasn't turning, so I reckon it's glued down with something

Great to hear CW sent you the replacement end link and all is now well with your Cranwell bracelet Gary  8)
It looks the business on the bracelet.
