sandhurst strap options
I have bought one of the c65 sandhursts in the sale and I wont lie, I am really looking forward to it.
It is on the excellent bracelet but I think this may well look even better on straps.
Does anybody have experience of the cw canvas strap or the oak leather?
I would also be interested to hear from others as to recommendations for this. Especially cw straps purely because I always think the OEM buckle finishes things off nicely.
Thanks

Top notch pick up Paul; I suspected you'd get a Sandhurst sooner or later.
Straps? A couple of suggestion;-
Olive Green Vintage Oak?
. . or any other Vintage Oak will work, probably black is the best alternative.
CW Khaki NATO

That green looks very nice actually Guy. Not keen on black leather for some reason.

Re: sandhurst strap options
I'm not sure if it's OEM generally, but I've never had a bad OEM leather strap, including CW. I've seen posts about the costing coming off the distressed leather straps, but no other negatives. I've got oak leather straps, several cordovans, and a hybrid from CW, and they all stand up against the competitors. The QR facilities and the Bader clasps taken together are second to none, It's just great never having to use a strap tool with a strap that fits tightly inside the watch lugs.

Re: sandhurst strap options
Same here, I think CW straps are really good - I particularly like the Tiber leather straps. I wish they offered the option of buying without a branded buckle, though with the fairly frequent 15% discount they are pretty reasonable for the quality.
I do like the green strap.
I do like the green strap.
I started out with nothing and I still have most of it left
Re: sandhurst strap options
I like my CW canvas strap (for my C60) but it arrive stiff and take patience to break it in. The CW Camel Vintage strap on my C65 is brilliant but it does darken up rapidly with wear
Small collection of timepieces that I enjoy

Re: sandhurst strap options
Thanks for your thoughts chaps.
Re the canvas... another forum friend warned me they are on the stiff side so will probably go leather initially

Re: sandhurst strap options
I put the brown canvas webbing on my Cranwell and yes it's quite stiff for a week or two, but then moulds to your wrist and becomes very comfortable indeed. It does have a lining (I think leather) so you don't have canvas rubbing against your skin
Shame you can't get the brown canvas on the CW website anymore

Re: sandhurst strap options
I support the idea of the camel oak. I have had mine on a few different watches. It's very forgiving, and goes well with a lot of different watches.
Re: sandhurst strap options
IMHO the camel vintage oak looks great on almost every CW watch.

Re: sandhurst strap options
That’s the truth. It’s my favorite strap on my C65 Trident Vintage. And I just bought a camel colored racing strap for my C65 AM GT LE (not a CW though).
